Comments on: Hillary Was Home On Day Bill Had Affair
Former First Lady's Schedules Released, Shed Light On Her Trips Abroad, Health Care Effort
- (((This article breaks every canon of ethical journalism because it transparently targets Hillary who shouldn''''t have to pay for Bill''''s indescretion years ago. )))
The fact that she DIDN''T DIVORCE HIM shows that she ultimately accepted his disgraceful behavior. SHE''S THE SAME AS HE IS.
The fact that he did it knowing SHE WAS IN THE SAME BUILDING, and on one occasion just HOURS before leaving on a FAMILY trip, just makes it all the more disgraceful. AND IT MAKES HILLARY ALL THE MORE DISGRACEFUL because SHE KNEW THIS ALL ALONG.
As for media "ethics" and how "tired" some individuals are of this story - the ONLY ethic of journalism is SELL MORE NEWS. They wouldn''t be presenting this piece unless they thought it would SELL MORE NEWS. Just like the Lewinsky story that kept playing in spite of some saying they were "tired" of it - NO, THEY WEREN''T!!! The news played it because YOU WANTED TO SEE IT. - Reply to this comment
- To JOCKH:
Perhaps Hillary won''t release her tax returns because of useless stories such as this one. Is it a really a news story that 10 years ago she was home while her husband was committing heavy petting with an intern? The woman is running for president and this is the kind of news story all the major media are running. THIS is a good justification for keeping things private. NOT because you have something to hide but because the media will pounce on every useless tidbbit of gossip to make her look less than presidential. - Reply to this comment
- If Hillary can loan 5 million dollars to her campaign then surely the voters have a right to know the source of her funding.
Why wont Hillary release her tax returns? PEOPLE WITH NOTHING TO HIDE DON%u2019T USUALLY HIDE !!
The main excuse we''ve gotten so far is that Hillary Clinton just has too much on her plate. "I''m a little busy right now," she said during the Ohio debate. "I hardly have time to sleep. But I will certainly work toward releasing, and we will get that done and in the public domain."
That was three weeks ago. Two weeks ago, Howard Wolfson promised the returns would be released "on or around April 15." But weren''t the returns completed and filed a long time ago? Doesn''t Clinton''s accountant have time to print them out and make some copies (note to Clinton''s accountant: many Kinko''s are open 24 hours).
In short, it''s well past time for Hillary Clinton to be as "vetted" as she claims to already be -- and to have this vetting done now by Democratic voters rather than later by GOP hit squads. She needs to live up to the standard she laid out for Rick Lazio, the opponent in her 2000 Senate race. At that time, she hypocritically said it was "frankly disturbing" that Lazio was holding back on releasing his tax returns and she even sent a staffer dressed as Uncle Sam to taunt him during campaign stops.
What a difference eight years -- and tens of millions of dollars (some of them from questionable Arab deals) -- can make. - Reply to this comment

- She is an intelligent, capable woman. And people (especially men) can''t seem to stand that. The US will be EXTREMELY fortunate to get her as a president. Let''s hope after two consecutive times we''ve failed to elect anyone intelligent, we will make the right choice.

If she is "an intelligent, capable woman", then why couldn''t she foretell the impact of her husband''s inequitable free trade treaties on that subject she claims is so near and dear to her heart: The nation''s health care crisis?
A person doesn''t have to be a genius to understand the likely impact of being forced to compete with countries where they pay less than 1/20th of our average wages and, worse, they have no environmental laws.
Of course companies had to decrease or eliminate health care insurance to lower their costs in order to compete...and of course jobs were inevitably lost - which is also normally accompanied by a complete loss of health insurance.
But did you hear a single peep out of that "intelligent, capable woman" who had a ringside seat and access (she claims, anyway) to all of the world''s leaders - which would include the economic talent of this world?
Nope...nary a peep. Her "experience" is in sitting back and watching while the corporations rape America.
Must result from having been on the board of directors of Wal-Mart for so long. - Reply to this comment
- Is this news, or is this the National Enquirer? I can''t believe you are posting this "she was home at the time of the affair" story. It has NOTHING to do with anything important but smacks of gossip and tabloid journalism.

- "Nearly 4,800 pages have parts blacked out. Archivists said that''s to protect the privacy of third parties."
Now that is unfortunate on two counts.
First, we''re unable to tell if Hillary was meeting with, as one example, private health insurance company executives as they worked out the details of her current run for the Presidency and their hoped for mega-bonanza.
Secondly, I guess we''ll never know how many oil company executives - or spouses thereof - Lynn Cheney meets with, eh? - Reply to this comment
- That does it! This woman is UNFIT for any elected office let alone president. The media needs to dig deeper into her dealings so that she''s totally exposed for what she really is - a fraud!

- 11,000 pages of papers released and the crack investigative journalists of America''s most esteemed news organizations decide that the most pressing order of business is to look into this nonsense.

- Truth be told, the Federal Government and Courts rarely look at husbands and wives as separate entities in many matters, treats them as one. Former Pres. Clinton''s wife now running for President is a gray area and may be illegal if its ever challenged in Court. The Law states a President can only serve 2 terms and Sen. Clinton running for President at a minimum violates the "spirit" of that Law in the context of having the same First Family a 3rd time. The idea that Sen. Hillary Clinton will be serving as President alone, all by herself with no involvement or participation from former Pres. Bill Clinton is a joke, no one believes that, especially when the Clinton''s sell and advocate 2 for 1! I think its illegal but because the Clinton''s are well liked, no one wants to go there!

- Hillary''s tolerance of husband Bill''s serial infidelities proves that she is NO FEMINIST.
Posted by tsunami-girl at 12:19 AM : Mar 20, 2008
An important precept of feminism is that a woman has the right to make her OWN choices about what she wants to do in life, without having to blindly follow what society or other individuals dictate they "should" do. The choice is Hillary''s and none of your business. - Reply to this comment
- Tsunami-girl...
Thank you.. Do away with the scandals like WW, Filegate, Travel gate and all the rest and if she had left Bill, I could have considered Hillary..
You are a smart lady..

Gee, can you really not tell the difference between voters and journalists ??? The standard of journalisic ethics is to be OBJECTIVE and UN-BIASED. This "story" and others of its kind do not meet the standard! Pathetic. - Reply to this comment

- CBS, you are beating a dead horse while infuriating Clinton supporters and others who demand a measure of fairness in the news. This article breaks every canon of ethical journalism because it transparently targets Hillary who shouldn''t have to pay for Bill''s indescretion years ago. It is time to get into current news. Readers of tired of this garbage!
