- Our Religion also went through it''''s phase of conquering nations and taking their lands and people but you don''''''''t see any learned people using that history or those passages in the Bible to generalise Christians

-I have scorned the Crusades numerous times and other attacks in the name of Christianity.
That''''s why the Crusades and Inquisitions were headed by the Roman Catholic Church, NOT Christians.
The Roman Catholic Church mixed pagan beliefs with true Christianity at their founding, roughly 300 years after Christ was on earth.
TRUE Christianity is defined in the Gospels and the Bible. NOT the Roman Catholic church and NOT "religion".
That''''s why a Christian is NOT someone who follows a "religion", it is someone who has accepted CHRIST as their personal Savior and Lord and who has admitted they are a sinner.
A Christian = Saved by grace
Religion = works based
Now this is all I''''m going to say about this today, because I know where this will lead. It will once again become another pack of wolves against Rick''''s faith.
And I am not going to give the pleasure of that today to all the secularist anti-Christian posters who flood these boards every day.
I''''ve said my peace, so suck it up and deal with it.

- Back in the days when Americans believed the God of Abraham and recognized Jesus as the only way to the Kingdom of Heaven and eternity with God, America won its conflicts.
After the 1950''s, Satanism''s motto, "Do what you want" proliferated. Sexual revolution, in violation of God''s commandments, spread coast to coast. The first mosque was built in D.C. And, just as God said (warned), His hand of protection slowly lifted. He allowed some losses and humiliation to come our way.
Today, the Christians allow others to push God out. We have lost our status as a Christian nation.
Recognition of ONLY God/Jesus/Holy Spirit should be a requirement for any office in America. We should not accept or request help from non-righteous nations. Then God would be on our side, and would secure victory for us.
Without God, expect more and bigger 9/11s. Sorry to hurt your feelings, America. But, you have become a ***! I once loved you. Now, I only care in secret. It is too painful to discuss you. - Reply to this comment
- Sounds like you believe in Christ as the embodiment of God but do not believe in any organized worship of him, would that be fair?

Nah, just scared of anyone who don''t worship exactly like he does ... Cheers! - Reply to this comment
- To a person of another culture, you would all be grouped under the category Christian, just as you probably do not distinguish among the various groups claiming to be "true" Muslims.

So your argument is that because the Catholic Church added some superfluous drama to the services for their own ends (to keep the masses entertained or awed one would suspect, not unlike a tent revival in some respects) that they are somehow not real Christians even though they profess to use the same Bible you use...I guess I just don''t understand the thought process.

- Catholic: pertaining to the whole Christian body or church
Thus the contention of the Papacy that Bishop of Rome is the head of the one true universal, common, or "catholic" church.
Of course if you''re a member of the Mormon, Jehovah''s Witness, Worldwide Church of Christ, Pentecostal, or a host of other beliefs centering around Jesus of Nazareth, you believe the same about your take on Christianity.

- In the New Testament, there is no mention of the papacy.

- 1) Aren''''t all religions "man made" be definition?
2) Lots of things Christians do are "not justified in scripture", that doesn''''t make them any less "Christian" just because you say they aren''''t.
3) You just acknowledged that the bible (Old Testament)is the holy book of and by the Jews. I assume you meant to say that Christ wanted his followers to follow his words as written down in the New Testament? Wasn''''t that written mostly by the Catholic Church several hundred years after his death?
