There are still a few around, who would follow Bush INTO a burning building.

One is Jim Oberweis of Illinois.

And he got badly burned yesterday.

John Kerry as President would have been George Washington reborn, compared to Dubya.

I wouldn''t follow george w. bush out of a burning building either. I would try to beat him out the door and lock it.

As for your quote from McCain, if you asked him again today you would probably get a totally different answer. With a politician it always depends on which direction the wind is blowing.

I would think an endorsement by bush would hurt anyone with a political career at this point. Would you vote for someone that was recommended by bush ?"

John McCain"s 2005 denunciation of torture actually hurt him with his conservative base.

For that reason I don"t believe it was a politically motivated statement. It was honest and heartfelt.

His recent slight flipflop, shortly before his tail-wagging acceptance of Bush"s worthless endorsement.... That I"m afraid is another matter entirely.

I think you just like to try to rufffle feathers to see what kind of reaction you can get. I like a good discussion and in college would often take a point of view that was different from what i thought just to make an interesting discussion.
