Comments on: Huckabee's Future Still Bright
Despite Unsuccessful Bid For GOP Nomination, Former Arkansas Governor Has Many Options Ahead
- I''m very glad to see Huckabee out of this race but will hold my breath until I am certain he won''t be VP. Unlike most here blasting his religious faith, I believe it is important to have a Christian leader...I just don''t think Huckabee is a leader. He attacked Romney for being rich - a VERY liberal tactic (class envy). He accused Romney of flip flops but the facts don''t support him. Romney changed his mind on abortion - I would think Huck would''ve welcomed that decision. Huck used anti mormon rhetoric to freak out the evangelicals and scare them away from voting for Romney. He stayed in the race even though Romney had more delegates (and still does) - it was he who should''ve bowed out gracefully for the sake of the country. It was obvious his only appeal was in the bible belt where the people listen to what their pastors tell them - including how to vote. I''ll admit I''m bitter, I''m not happy with McCain and I believe Huckabee is largely responsible for it as a result of his overgrown ego.

- What really gets me is that people say that we don''t need religious people running our government. That religious people don''t belong in our government, but has it ever crossed their minds that it was religious people that started this country, and this government. I''m a Christian but thats not the only reason I supported Huckabee. He was an incredible govenor of Arkansas.

- jeff-fla: I''ve got to admire you, you must have an incredible amount of faith. Because if you don''t believe in God than you believe we got here by chance. You''ve got to love the theory of evolution, according to it, we got here because of a big explotion. May I ask you how an explotion made everything. Nothing exploded, but yet here we are. Oh, and you quoted scripture, you''re right the Bible does say that if you desire something ask it of God. But the Bible doesn''t say that what you recieve will always be a yes. Thought you might what to know that.

- Just goes to prove there is no god. They say if you ask god you will receive. This was one of gods own, he asked and was denied. hahahaha. Let us hope he is always denied.

- Mike Huckabee is a bright light. Those who hate him are creatures of the night, afraid of being seen for what they are.

- Huckabee seems like an atheist compared to McCain''s top supporter Hagee. Hagee claims God is helping the terrorists so that armageddon gets here quicker. Sick!

- Just what we need ... floating crosses in political ads, changing the words "act of God" in insurance policies to "meddling by Satan", replacing all science textbooks with the Bible ...
What does this so-called bright future look like? Maybe we''ll get rid of all public schools so that no one will be exposed to all that secular brainwashing. How ''bout the same with hospitals? No Jesus, no treatment! Or what about setting up "Christian zones" in parts of the country so he and his followers never have to interact with anyone who''s different from them. Next he can start rounding up everyone who isn''t a fellow born-again zealot - - "just for their personal safety", of course.
The scary thing is not simply that he''s such a narrow-minded whack job, but that there are so many people who agree with him. If the Huckster gains national office the country''s gonna need God to help it, one way or another. - Reply to this comment
- Huckabee did not lose support because he raised taxes in Arkansas. He lost support because the Republican establishment was afraid that if elected he would bring about the Fair Tax and other reforms that would have made the rich poorer and the poor richer. He also lost support because the left wing were afraid he would make them go to church. His opponents were right about the first and wrong about the second.

- I think alot of people fail to realize the magnitude of people that Mike Huckabee has reached For some, they were just finding out about him and his campaign ended. Limited funds and a race "rich with conservatives to compete with Huckabee" may have caused him to get behind McCain to where the media was able to convince folks he couldn''t win, but he has garnered a HUGE support base that just keeps growing and we are convinced he will win the White House in 2012/2016. (depending on what happens in November.) McCain will select Huckabee for his running mate if he is smart. We will need to consolidate the party and work hard to win in November. Noone campaigned harder than Mike Huckabee. No group worked harder for a candidate than the thousands of Huck''s Rangers. We would only work that hard for McCain if Huckabee were on the ticket. Whatever Huckabee decides to do, he has thousands of loyal volunteers ready to back him and work just as hard for him as we have done this past year....

- Huck was a flop as a preacher so a tattoo and a tour with Amy Winehouse would be just right for him.
