"Why Hillary voted with Bush on the Iran resolution is unfathomable."
Posted by EddyNewHope at 02:15 PM : Mar 02, 2008

Seventy-five OTHER Senators in addition to Hillary voted for the Iran resolution. It should be noted that OBAMA DID''T EVEN VOTE ! The resolution was a bill to declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a foreign terrorist organization in order to apply greater diplomatic pressure on Iran.

In any case, my original post was not about VOTES. It was about Hillary CO-SPONSORING legislation with Republicans. She has done much better than Obama getting support from the opposition party for issues she cares about and is working on.

"I voted for the bill but I hoped it wouldn''t pass" - Hillary Clinton. Then why did you vote for the bill?? Typical.

Libra - You made my point: Hillary''s speech (talk) was about "more time for weapons inspectors" but her actions were to give Bush the power to start preemptive war which is unprecedented in our history. OK - so she goofed, but then she did it again with the Iran resolution. As far as I''m concerned, Bush/Cheney have forfeited their right to start wars. Why Hillary voted with Bush on the Iran resolution is unfathomable. What''s that saying? "Fool me once, shame on you..." Hillary''s actions are a complete 180 from her hollow words.

"Libra - True, she worked with Repubs to go to war in Iraq, supported NAFTA, and to give Bush more war powers against Iran. LOL. I guess the issue is that Hillary works with the GOP on the wrong issues."

The legislation I referred to was in the last 2 years since Obama has been in the Senate. She clearly has had more success than Obama in working with the opposition to get things done.

As for NAFTA, Hillary and Barack both agree that their views are the same - they both want to re-negotiate the agreement in the same ways. Which one is more likely to succeed ?

As for Iraq, Obama has said he is not sure how he would have voted if he had been in the Senate at that time. Hillary''s Senate speech before voting emphasized that war should only be a LAST RESORT. She was voting for more aggressice support of the UN inspectors looking for WMD.

Hahahaha - All you haters won''t have much to rail about after Tuesday. ;) "It''s 3am, a phone rings - It''s Hillary calling Mark Penn to cuss him out for ruining her campaign." LOL In all fairness, I heard an astute quote: "Hillary is better than her campaign" which is probably true. It''s unfortunate that her poor judgment has led the Clinton operation to run the most cynical, desperate, and ugly campaigns in recent memory.

"There is no question that Obama is better suited to work with both parties in order to fix the mess that the Bush White House created."

During the time Obama has been a Senator, he has co-sponsored 24 pieces of legislation with Republicans. During the same period, Hillary Clinton has sponsored 53 (fifty-three!) pieces of legislation with Republicans.

Obviously it is HILLARY that has the better record and has shown herself to be better-suited to work with Republicans to GET THINGS DONE.

"can you tell me why Clinton deserves our vote?"
Posted by Vet_SK at 06:49 AM : Mar 02, 2008

Because she is amazingly smart, hard-working, and knowledgeable about all of the issues which the President must deal with - foreign affairs, military issues, economic issues, health care, education, working with BOTH parties in Congress (she has co-sponsored legislation with Repubublicans far more than Obama has).

Because as First Lady she was President Clinton''s chief advisor and, while not always totally agreeing with him on all issues (i.e., NAFTA), she saw the Presidential decision-making process from the inside for 8 years.

Because as Senator for 7 years, she sponsored MORE LEGISLATION PER YEAR than ANY OTHER of the 546 members of Congress. (www.govtrack.us/data/us/110/repstats/en

Hillary already had her "Red Phone" moment. It was the vote on the War in Iraq, and she failed miserably. OBAMA ''08!

Obama wants the election to be about his judgment. Where was his judgment when he decided to snort lines of cocaine, and get involved with a person like Rezko?
