al Qaeda was in Iraq pre invasion and has admitted so repeatedly. They have posted videos on their websites of this presence (http://regimeofterror.com/archives/2007/08/detainee_talks_of_terror_camp_1/), has had documents recovered discussing their pre invasion movements and admitted their prewar training in the country (http://regimeofterror.com/archives/2007/07/al_qaeda_video_documents_husse_1/). The Iraq war was not about the Iraqi people, it was about Saddam. If the people wanted to fight for him, then their fate is another casualty of the war.
