- "This time of war warrants a person who has been in a war, who can understand war, and do what it takes to survive a war. McCain knows this first hand. Obama or Hillary certainly do not.

What is the experience of McCain ? Been where he was in the army thanks to Dad and Grand Dad. Having lost five aircrafts and been a POW ? I know this is much more than GWB experience, but still ... - Reply to this comment
- The country is no longer obsessed over the abscess of the Iraq War like they were in 2006. This election is going to be about a myriad of diverse issues.
Then the voter must decide. Am I so enamoured with change that I throw caution to the wind or do I go for somene I know has proven courage, is capable and confident and not merely effective with rendering glib poetic, hollow answers to difficut issues.
It is also about the future, not about the past. That Democrat Clunker of Blame does not have enough steam to carry them all the way to the White House.
By November the Dems better have something new, for REAL! - Reply to this comment
- There once was a man named McCain
Who had the whole White House to gain,
But he was quite a hobbyist
Of boning his lobbyists,
So much for his %u201908 campaign. - Reply to this comment
- Experience in international affairs and conflicts. One could hardly disagree that McCain, Cheney, Powell and Donald Rumsfeld have a boatload of experience in defense and global diplomacy. Yet, they were the major components in one of the biggest blunders in U.S. history. The question is whether one would need an abundance of experience to make sound judgements?

Then by your post and reasoning you must REALLY think GWB should NOT be in the position he has.
Is it that REGRET over allowing George to take over and demolish our Economy, International image, and war fighting capability that brought you to that conclusion?? - Reply to this comment
- Posted by psy_war Judging by your chosen ''Nom de plume`, I see that you believe you know something about psychological warfare!
BTW I volunteered for Vietnam and served as
a 1st Lt. US ARMY - MACV welcome home, son!
I left home at age 25, college educated, with a very different perspective than you did as a teenager. No doubt that explains why I returned home with a different attitude.
I fear you have let thoe cowardly dogs of the press contaminate your mind. Either that, or your Vietnam service is a fairy tale you just made up. - Reply to this comment
- McCain is most qualified, most deserving, most experianced. Anyone who disagrees is naive. There should be questions raised about Obama''s experiance, authenticity, and lack of knowledge. This country deserves someone who has what it takes to keep us safe, not learn on the job where mistakes of disasterious proporations can happen. This time of war warrants a person who has been in a war, who can understand war, and do what it takes to survive a war. McCain knows this first hand. Obama or Hillary certainly do not.

Like the late William F. Buckley (who ALSO OPPOSED the Iraq War) you do provide hope that intelligent debate is still out there.
Now, if we can get our educational system up to speed maybe the children of these fools will be able to understand what you''ve said. - Reply to this comment
- ..why do the vets disagree with the general?
OBVIOUSLY this is a question from one who has never worn the uniform. Every PFC has a better idea than the Commanding General in the field.
NEW CONCEPT* This may be difficult for you to comprehend but our military structure, which is baseed upon the European tradition, centuries old IS NOT A DEMOCRACY. Everyone does NOT get a vote before an action is taken, but everyone has a right to complain afterwards.
Regarding the other generals; how many football pundits thought there was no way the Patriots could lose the Super Bowl? - Reply to this comment

BAD ARGUMENT -- POOR LOGIC!
If the US military is there to take charge of the oil fields, don''t you think they could have done that by now? - Reply to this comment
