Governor Huckabee, perhaps you would be singin a different tune about his following God''s law. As it is, I''ll chalk up your stupid and callous responses to a simple lack of imagination.

Umm, you still haven''t explained how the benevolent and all-loving Huckabee was following God''s law when he explained that "if someone told us what to do with our flag, we''d tell them where to stick the pole!" Real empathy there for blacks in South Carolina who have to endure the indignity of living under a flag with a racist symbol on it. I''ll tell you, Huckabee''s love for humanity is so touching that it''s bringing a tear to my eyes. I mean, after all, if the whites in South Carolina want to use a state symbol to rub the black''s nose in it, why should anyone try to stop it?

Every human being can understand love, justice, and mercy. If you had been made suddenly homeless following hurricane Katrina and had been helped by Governor Huckabee, perhaps you would be %u201Csingin%u201D a different tune about his following %u201CGod%u2019s law.%u201D As it is, I''''ll chalk up your stupid and callous responses to a simple lack of imagination. Yet another arrogant Christian who thinks that Christians are the only people who are charitable loving or good. Your arrogance is sickening. I''m an atheist, and I bet any amount of money I''ve logged more hours doing charitable work in my life than you have. It''s because I care about my fellow human beings, NOT because I expect a reward from God some day.

Enough with your preaching. Save it for Sunday. Christians want EVERY person in the world to be a Christian. Drives them nuts that they''re not. "What? You DON''T believe in Jesus/God/the Bible???"

Winner of the most asinine comment by a presidential candidate: John McCain
"I don''t think Americans care if we are in Iraq for 10 years, 100 years, or 10,000 years.

DUH! Probably the single most important issue of discontented Americans, including me, and McCain dismisses it.

I could ask you where you think you get your %u201Creason%u201D and %u201Clogic%u201D from, but considering ultimate origins seems to be a level of abstraction beyond your capabilities. The reason Almighty God sent us his Son in human form instead of a treatise on string theory is because people like you need to be communicated with on a level you can understand. Every human being can understand love, justice, and mercy. Given that most Americans are dissatisfied with the current administration''s policies and with the direction of America, vote for John McCain if you want more of the same, because he has promised more of the same.

Mike Huckabee is the sort of guy who would listen to all your bigoted ranting and still jump into an icy river to save your useless ungrateful carcass from being drowned. I first became a supporter of his because he helped my family during hurricane Katrina, even though there was no possible profit for him in doing so. He was following %u201CGod%u2019s law,%u201D of course, so you probably disapprove. But I have a theory that God compensates people whom he has given very little intelligence by endowing them with a spark of empathy and compassion, so maybe this side of Mike Huckabee will do more for you than disputes about the proper origin of governing principles; it''s less academic, and academic subjects don''t seem to be your strong suit.

bdribus,,, No, I make an effort to listen to him.... Granted he''s not nearly as bad as McCain & his lies & in many ways I have respect for him.... But face it, Bush has made sure Huckabee''s out of the running now.

Mike Huckabee and Abraham Lincoln are great role models for society.

Both our courageous and caring men. Both do what is right for the country not what is right for party politics.

Lincoln wanted to abolish the atrocity of slavery. The "establishments" and "me too crowd" back then also didnt want to relinquish power.

If Lincoln was running today, the "me too crowd", "establishments" and the "media" would be giving the same cold sholder to him too as they are doing to Mike Huckabee now.

It''s a shame that American''s havent learned a lessson from that experience. We are giving a cold sholder to a man who deeply cares about all Americans like Abraham Lincoln did in 1860''s.

Romney delegates: you were let down by Mitt. He took your money $100 million and then he just gave up, he wasted your money and hard effort. Did he ever say he was sorry? He used you!!!

It''s going to come down to you, dont vote for the establishments of McCain, instead listen to what Lincoln is saying and vote for individuals who care like Mike Huckabee.

You can bring Lincoln principles back or you can allow the establishments to continue to rule you with their money and power.

Just remember, a true leader is one that "shares" his power, not "shows" his power.

Candide777:

You''re a little slow, so let me repeat this again: what''s arrogant is to change the law on the basis of what YOU happen to like. But if you say loving your neighbor as yourself and protecting innocent life (which are the provisions of "God''s law" that you apparently have a problem with) are arrogant, then count me in. Anyway, this country was constructed so that people of inferior mental ability such as yourself could be free to express idiotic opinions without being killed. If it weren''t for people with some sort of moral compass (like Mike Huckabee) protecting your freedoms (motivated by "God''s law") you''d be in a world of hurt.

nothing like a huge phoney receiving the endorsement of another huge phoney.

what mccain doesnt realise is that the gop isnt really behind him... they chose him to go down with the sinking ship this year. its easier than trying to salvage whats left after the last eight.

sure enough the dems when they have control will probably do equal damage... maybe even in four years... and the repubs will be back to take thier turn on americans bent over the barrel again.

Oh, and like I was saying, nothing could be more arrogant than to attempt to legislate "god''s law." You, sir, are an arrogant prick!

As a Christian, I DO think I know some of what God wants, because he has told us. That knowledge is available to everyone whether we like it or not, and nothing could be less arrogant than accepting it, especially because I would personally prefer if some things were different. But people like you choose to substitute what YOU want instead, and thus have no justification for your positions except for your own misbegotten whims. THAT is the height of arrogance. But it%u2019s a free country, so you%u2019re entitled to your (dumb) opinion.

As a gay man, I have suffered enough for the stupidity of people like you who blindly accept everything they read in the Bible even though the Bible is self-contradictory and was written and then re-written by men who were no more speaking for God than I do. But, if you want to persecute people based on what you read in the Bible, it''s a free country, I guess, so more power to you!

Candide777:

I can''t hope to educate you by means of these comments, but what you''re overlooking is the fact that the original founding documents of this country were based on Judeo-Christian principles (yes, yes, I know you revisionists want to deny that, but it''s the truth) and any change in the Constitution must also be made on the basis of SOME principle or rationale. My question to you is, what principle or rationale do you advocate? Huckabee''s point was that rather than going with public opinion or the latest media-driven fad, we should make such changes on the basis of ancient and sacred wisdom. As a Christian, I DO think I know some of what God wants, because he has told us. That knowledge is available to everyone whether we like it or not, and nothing could be less arrogant than accepting it, especially because I would personally prefer if some things were different.
