- The logical answer is the line-item veto. When the President signs a new bill that has additional spending - not related to the intent of the bill - or simply frivolous - veto the line - not the entire bill.

- McCain. He wants to stay in Iraq 100 years. That is $265 Million per day X 365 days X 100 years. Do the math. It is America''s wealth, not "Bush" McCain''s.

Good thing the US has Fort Knox and corporate lobbyists who give the government money all the time to rely on, if things ever get to a disastrous point... - Reply to this comment
- Japan was attacked by USA. I don''t hate American people but too ignorant to think of other side.

And what was Pearl Harbor, then? An invitation to a picnic at "make-out point"?!
Japan attacked the US first. Even if they hadn''t, there were legitimate reasons to show them to stop. War is not a game.
Of course, nobody could have done anything; let them all kamakazi to death... the US would have gotten blamed for that too, no doubt. - Reply to this comment
- I hate to say it, but probably the best thing to do is vote a straight Democratic ticket in ''''08, and then in 2010, ''''12 and so on, work at weeding out those Democrats who are incurably corporate tools.
Rather like cleaning a toilet; flush it first to get the big chunks out of the way, and then work on the details.

- MEMO to CBS:
Looking for scandal ? How about the Kennedy Family Trust in Tahiti ? While hard working Americans pay estate taxes, big time, the really rich, like Teddy''s family, don''t.
Teddy is in favor of us paying even more of our "fair share" . Remember the fight over the death tax ?
......why is this story ignored by the press ?
The examples used in this story is a ploy, making it sound not too bad. Don''t buy it. This story is actually an ANTI REPUBLICAN, ANTI BUSH set up. - Reply to this comment
- As for the Daniel Perls, and the others who were victims of mad people with saws and knives, why is that no one ever asks what they were doing in a known hostile area? They were obviously not welcome there, and, as cold as it sounds, had they not been there, they wouldn''''t have become victims.

If the woman hadn''t been in that area, if she hadn''t been dressed so provacatively...etc, she wouldn''t have been raped.
