Obama Campaign Dismisses Vote With No Delegates At Stake, But Clinton Says It's Significant
- For votes, Hilary disregarded her pledge. For votes, Hilary changed her endorsement of Bush and the war for years to non support. For votes, Hilary approved of torture and expanding FISA for Bush. For votes Hilary is liable to pledge or promise anything--to offer up money, to claim to be "for" you or me or whatever she thinks will please us--that is for votes--but what will she do when votes are no longer needed? Promises are leverage she and Bill break with impunity as are vows to marriage and to anyone else. I said from the beginning even before this began , that my main objection to Hilary and indeed many Democrats is they have no conviction--no idea or moral that they are willing to fight for , even if they will lose--everything is for sale--even their position. If it will further the cause--let soldiers keep dying and don''t pull the funds (might cost them the election), no matter how corrupt Bush is--impeachment is off the table (might cost them the election), Keep backing FISA with one hand while whining about the overreach of the Bush admin, the FBI and the DOJ...on and on--they stand for nothing now--about the only true thing we know for sure--is that many will say or do anything to get elected--

- Might I remind you, after Bill Clinton''''s shenanigans the Democratic Party was accused of having "No Morales", and rightly so.

I disagree. The Dems did not actually lose both houses at the same time until 2000 and it was not the lack of morals that did it. In fact, after the impeachement of Clinton, it was the Republicans that lost seats in Congress as a backlash for having put the Presidency in jeopardy for something as petty as what he did with his penisssss then forcing the issue under oath. Most Americans AND most of Europe, thought it was a witch hunt and most think the Republicans are hypocritical liars and petty--desperate to discredit the Clintons. The Dems lost after that, for the reason they will probably lose after 2008--for lack of convictions and principles. For this party, it appears these things are for sale and have gotten to the point that even the avg Democrat has no idea what those words mean. They go which ever way the wind blows or the polls show and appear to have no compass of integrity of their own--not all but Hilary and Bill govern this way. The basic difference between neo cons and Dems is not morality or loyalty--it is whether their guy is in power--because when he/she is--both groups will overlook and defend almost anything. - Reply to this comment
- This is something of an enigma to me. Most people I know wouldn''t let a confirmed Liar, and Sexual Deviant in their own home, but there are those that would put someone like I just described in the White House?
Might I remind you, after Bill Clinton''s shenanigans the Democratic Party was accused of having "No Morales", and rightly so. As a result we lost control of The House, The Senate, and The Presidency, leaving nothing to stand in the way of the Republicans. Boy did they do a great job! Look around folks. If Hillary gets the nomination we''ll loose, and loose Big! Obama is the solution. - Reply to this comment

- UNCONTESTED!!!! Give me a break. There were several candidates on the Ballot, Edwards and Superstar Obama included! She DIDN''T Campaign here either, unlike OBAMA who had television commercials on several networks. Not a SINGLE Hillary commercial. I''ve never seen such a Media Bias in all of my years. We Florida voters have spoke loud and clear, WE WANT HILLARY!!! Un-Contest that!

- Complain to your state government. The DNC said they''''d not count FL and MI if they moved their primaries up and they did it anyway, so they don''''t count.

Exactly, Sgt. and the rules have to stand for something. They will get their votes counted like every other citizen when it comes time for the general election--but on the other hand, voters should punish the state Dem party for disregarding the rules and costing them their delegates--because it really iS unfair, that they are held to this standard when it was the leaders who did this to them.
Too bad the DNC can''t strip the state leaders who did this -- of their rank and sideline them from the party - Reply to this comment
- lexluthor5... Senator Clinton did not campaign in FL., she attended fundraisers, as did the other candidates,
Posted by richmondvaga at 08:26 AM : Jan 30, 2008
No one attended fund raisers in Florida except Hilary. Obama aired ads but didn''t show up and Only Hilary said she would seat delegates in direct contradiction to the pledge she agreed to up hold. Why did Obama run ads in Florida? because after the backhanded way, Clinton stayed on the ticket in Michigan when everyone else complied with the pledge and got out--indicated that to not do anything would give Hilary another win by default--so they did the only thing they could short of getting down in the mud like Hilary and just appearing to dishonor the pledge not to count or campaign in Florida. Face it--if anyone besides Hilary had done this--her supporters would be crying loud and long about what a cheat the other person is--take a lesson from this Dems--in the finaly analysis--there is not much difference between a blindly loyal neo con and their god and a blindly loyal dem and their goddette. - Reply to this comment
- I hope McCain DOES offer Obama the VP--it would make for a very interesting and exciting race-" Posted by b-easy63
LOL! So after all the rancor and division and name calling then they come out and do a circle dance and sing "Kumbyya" together? Think the voters would buy that now?
Posted by trapbreak at 06:36 AM : Jan 30, 2008
Probably, they seem to be buying ol'' promise breaking, race baiting Hilary--so why not? LOL
They get the best of both worlds--McCain will pull the Republicans and the Democratic --anyone but Hilary crowd--and Obama will pull Black voters and his own sizeable following--that leaves Hilary with her ardent supporters which is about 1/2 of the Democrats-- and a few Independents. See? And those who just can''t make up their mind can go for Hilary or Ralph Nader or stay home--it would be VERY, VERY interesting. LOL - Reply to this comment
- HeySgt RDS. It was just on the news that Congresswoman Thurman of Fl struck a deal with Howard Dean and nancy Pelosi to reinstate the FL delegates. Looks like Obama was pretty stupid not standing up to the DMC like Hillary did. He''''d rather just totally disenfrnchise the state of Fl since he knew he couldn''''t compete in that environment. super Tues will be hillary''''s corornation

If they do, at this late date, Edwards and Obama can call foul and actually nullify the votes from both states--the reason being that by concurring and obeying the parameters of the not campaigning and by removing their names from the ballot in Michigan and not appearing in person in FL--they were hamstrung by the DNC--if the DNC reinstates those delegates arbitrarily, they can be sued for election fixing and inhibiting or intefering with the Democratic election process. After all, had the DNC not imposed the no delegate mandate, all candidates would have ran and been on the ballot. And if HIlary had no intention of honoring her pledge--she should have made it known in the beginning instead of running end rounds around her own promise and the other candidates. She''s not sneaky--she''s dishonest. Big difference. - Reply to this comment
- The lack of delegates to win has its own relevance. However, it IS a good story that, inspite of no delegates, Hillary still got more votes than anybody, dem or ''''pub.
You rush fans crack me up, taking his comedy routines seriously...

Hilary got more votes in Michigan too--since she was the only candidate that contradicted their own pledge and kept her name on the ballot. The others put their names on the ballet in Florida (having gotten wise to the Hilary duality games) but only Clinton has gone so far as to say she would break her pledge to not go after the delegates--if she did not want to honor that pledge--she should have never given it in the first place. Which pledges and promises to her supporters will she break first--when it is expedient to court the GOP voters? - Reply to this comment
