Abortion, adultery, taking the wife''s calls during speeches and meetings (bad manners), saying that the wife would be invited into cabinet meetings, etc. Not exactly electable traits, at least not for Republican voters. Bill Clinton pulled it off for his first and second campaigns, but he wasn''t on the Republican ticket.
