- IN the final analysis, Hilary is a strong candidate and as wily, cunning and nasty as any Repubican--so she stands the best chance of beating McCain

I read a column by *** Meyers who stated in three national polls out of four McCain was favored over Hillary. On the other hand Obama would have a better chance of beating McCain since he also appeals to the independents - Reply to this comment
- If Obama wins the democratic nomination, I will URGE all the Hillary''''''''s Supporters to VOTE for McCain or Romney.
We cannot afford another Bush-like to run this country further in DEBT.

Note if McCain is nominated and Hillary is nominated, McCain has better chance of winning. Interestingly independents like both McCain and Obama. I also like both because I see them as straight shooters and I see McCain as a man of integrity who would help[ reduce the budget deficit and bring experience to the white house. - 4. On the war, she wants to keep troops there longer, so does McCain--and as far as having convictions--I believe he has more than Hilary (who appears to have only 2--Dems MUST be in power and she must be their leader)
5. IN the final analysis, Hilary is a strong candidate and as wily, cunning and nasty as any Repubican--so she stands the best chance of beating McCain. McCain is an unknown--what he will do and how he will go about it will probably rock a few boats on both sides of the aisle. Obama represents where we wish we were headed--but that is not necessarily where we will end up.
Over and above the polices of the 3, the real questions are--what would each of them do to clean up the mess of the past 7 years and how would they do it? Taxes DO need to be raised. Outsourcing DOES need to be controlled. People DO need health care. The economy does need to be addressed. Who?
If Hilary--she may fix things, make them worse or serve for a lightening rod for blame. If McCain, he will absorb the ire and blame for his own party''s malfeasance. If Obama--he could end up being a sad, and misleading scapegoat for why a black can''t lead.
Because the fact is--whoever gets this new term--will be inheriting a mess that may implode all over them--and no matter how much we blame Bush--we also blame whoever was in power when the ******* hit the fan. - Reply to this comment

- I don''t know Obama--but I did hear him speak and despite my very cynical nature--did feel hope and uplift--something I had not felt since the 2006 election. I don''t like Hilary--but of the 2, she stands the best chance of beating McCain. That said, my vote now rests with Obama, and if he loses--with McCAin. Why? There is absolutely no love lost between me and the Republicans. Hated this war, despise Bush and have been against both from the beginning.
So why vote for McCAin if Obama is toast? Why not install Hilary.
1. I''m not a party shill, I don''t vote just to get a certain party in power--I can see the good and the bad of absolute majorities and the Dems have a lot of good points and a lot of very bad/questionable points (Like amnesty for illegals and NAFTA and spending like crazy)
2. I believe in fighting and taking a stand--even if I will lose. I don''t believe in going whichever way the wind blows and having no true conviction that I am willing to lose over. (like the Dems have --for refusing to stand up to any veto and war fund bill and failing to try to impeach)
3. A vote for Obama is a vote for hope, for unity and a possible shift in the paradigm. Hilary represents the establishment--not only of the old Democratic base but of Washington--she plays the game well--because she is a token in the game see next post - Reply to this comment
- Go Home Caroline!
Caroline says we have not had a president since her father who gave us hope, She''s full of mud! Bill Clinton was our hope when he first ran. We had a strong country, jobs, money, homes, food and a good economy. How soon we forget. At least when he was President I didn''t have to choose between buying gas or buying food.
Obama swears he''s in for a change. Where is his change? Kennedy is old hat and old news. What would silver spoons know about being poor, homeless or jobless? Have they suffered any of the above? Don''t think so. Why is he always in bed with criminals? Guess everyone forgets Chappaquiddick? Rezko, How could he not know he was in bed with a slum lord? If he didn''t know that, I can hear him as president, Well I just didn''t know. If he already doesn''t know, Do we really want him as president?
He insulted Hillary for Bill campaigning for her, What is the difference in what he is doing, Oprah and now the Kennedy"s. Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black to me, at least she kept it in the family.

- The problem is that the average voter does not listen to what the candidates have to say and the media covers the campaign like a raid race, not a discussion of ideas..we talk about momentum--if momentum were a candidate he/she would win hands down--I don''t vote for who is popular--it''s the ideas and the positions stupid !!!
As for JFK--he was all talk--great talk, but all talk no action--all he talked about LBJ did (the ''great society program''s)--I am tired of talk--give me someone who can get something done and unite the country--the problem is that if you listen to this blog we are a country of special interests--that has to go away !! - Reply to this comment
- My God, the old Lion has got it right. Now if Gore follows suit, the machinations of the Clinton smear machine will lhave proven futile. There is hope.

- From a purely sentimental point of view, this horse squeeze from Kennedy sounds ''flowery.'' From an actual historical point of view, JFK has as much in common with Ubama as I do with the Dalai Lama.

- It''s true, Barack Obama will actually fight for the rights of DANGEROUS CRIMINALS to SUE YOU if they get themselves hurt after breaking into your home.
Obama also does not believe you have a right to protect yourself, your family, and your property from harm!
Both Obama and Clinton will say law-abiding citizens should not be trusted to own common handguns, rifles, and shotguns while they both rely on armed guards who carry MACHINE GUNS every single day.

- In the fall of 2006, GW Bush with approval ratings in the 20''s made an appearance to support Republican incumbent Mike Sodrel in the ninth district Indiana Representatives election.
Democratic contender Baron Hill won the election.
With Kennedy''s reputation for amnesty legislation for felons and civil criminals across the board, we can only hope the same outcome follows for Obama. - Reply to this comment

- President John F. Kennedy definitely said it best....
"Today we need a nation of minute men; citizens who are not only prepared to take up arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as a basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom.
The cause of liberty, the cause of American, cannot succeed with any lesser effort."
