libra127: I agree. Most people have very short memories..that''s why they elected "The War President" TWICE. People don''t remember how our economy thrived under Clinton and how well loved we were by the world at large. All these pea brains remember is "Lewinsky". It''s really embarrassing to travel the world and have to make excuses for my ignorant countrymen and women.

"...but if he is starting to act like a republican and slinging mud rather than discussing issues he should bow out."

But, you see, the truth is, he has NOT really been "slinging mud" - that is just the spin the press tends to want to put on it. It creates controversy and that''s what the press thinks sells the news. That''s what their corporate owners want. Bill Clinton hasn''t really said anything offensive, but Hillary-haters and Hillary-opponents and the broadcast media love to over-interpret and make controversy. The amount of outright LYING that goes on about the Clintons is really UNBELIEVABLE. And very vicious and unfair.

Hillary''s Legacy will be: Cleaning up the C.R.A.P. that The Decider left all over the world. Obama unfortunately, doesn''t have the stomach or experience to do it. Thank Goodness South Carolina won''t have the final say in this matter.

Now, however, he is starting to turn me off. It is not his place to campaign against Obama like a republican liar and back stabber.

Posted by Vincan,

I have not followed the primaries, but if he is starting to act like a republican and slinging mud rather than discussing issues he should bow out.

This article is a testament to a right-wing press dead set on destroying the Democratic campaign and fracturing it along racial lines. This is absolutely monstrous and very intentional.
Calling the Clintons white trash sets my teeth on edge and I am not even for Hillary. Hawksprings and cdmertz, your vitriol goes beyond political extremism...it is diabolical and sick!

20-30 years from now, the ONLY thing Clinton will be remembered for is Monica Lewinsky and Impeachment.

Posted by hawksprings,

That will certainly be part of his legacy. However, I find it rather interesting that we are giving credit to the GOP congress for balancing the budget and some of Clintons other notable achievements.

If this GOP congress was so great then why did they change a 234 billion surplus into the sea of red ink? Also can you tell me how many vetos Bush had when the GOP dominated congress during his terms?

Based on this, I would say it is reasonable to conclude that Clinton was far better at controlling the borrow and spend congress than Bush is.

I always was a supporter of President Clinton. He was unfairly harrassed by mad dog evil republicans non-stop. He has made me proud since he left office. Now, however, he is starting to turn me off. It is not his place to campaign against Obama like a republican liar and back stabber.

VoiceO,
These things you claim Clinton did were simply things that Congress put on his desk and he signed.
A balanced budget, tax cuts, welfare reform, and on and on.

When Clinton started office, the first thing he ''tackled'' was Gayss in the Military, that after he said he would focus like a laser beam on the economy.
An economy, by the way, which had started growing months BEFORE he took office, but that didn''t stop him and Algore taking credit for it.

20-30 years from now, the ONLY thing Clinton will be remembered for is Monica Lewinsky and Impeachment. He did nothing of substance while in office, except try to bang women while his wife tried to manage the "bimmbo eruptions."

That''s his legacy.
And you know it.

"look at Hillary in the above caption--her face is tight with anger and frustration..."

Gee, perhaps you are not as good as you think you are at "interpreting" people''s facial expressions. In FACT, that picture is a still from a rally which happened BEFORE the SC primary. Quit trying to attribute negative emotions to Hillary (or any other candidate) based on what you want the situation to be. She does not look the least bit "angry and frustrated" to me ! She looks like a highly intelligent woman engaged in what she''s doing.

To hawksprings:

Fantasize if you want, that Clinton''s presidency was a failed one. But answer me this:

The same republican congress that you give credit for all of the successes under president Clinton were in office, until recently, under Bush. Bush has presided over runaway deficits and two recessions in seven years. While Clinton presided over a balanced budget and phenomenal economic growth.

The republicans took over the house because of an election-year gimmick called ''Contract With America.'' This was a set of feel-good promises that they then proceeded to break once they were elected.

Caroline was what? 4 when her dad died--her words are lovely--but like she says--she has to rely on what people tell her about her dad. Ted Kennedy is important because Presidents do not actually enact policy--congress does--Presidents are just the point people and spokesperson for those policies. These people who appear or already have endorsed Obama are in the Senate now and hold Key positions--Leahy, Ted Kennedy (announced endorsement will be formal this week), Kerry...these names are important, because they indicate that should Obama carry the day--he will already have key allies in Congress ready to implement his policies and guide him in the nuances of that level of government. It is nice to have Caroline Kennedy on board--but it appears those who endorse Obama do so--for the message of unity outside of divisive and partisan politics--and that is--one of the things America needs if we are to weather the mess we now are in. As for Hilary--she appears to know no other mindset than bash Republicans, division, smear and hate--she has learned a lot eating at the GOP trough--but maybe she lost something as well--like how to be a real Democrat--liberal, tolerant and able to listen to other ideas without sneering--she is more like a Republican in Dems clothing now. But did anyone expect true conversion in a Goldwater girl?

Bill Clinton''s biggest legacy was the likes of Monica Lewinsky, he and his wife are both people of no morals, they will say and do whatever it takes to get what they want, he took the black population of this country for a ride to insure his election to the White House and he and Hillary figured to do it again. I find it interesting that it is not working for them, I only hope that the black population comes to realize that what the Clinton''s have been doing for years, Barak Obama is doing now only a little more subtley.

tiddsanbeer: Funny how you tout McCain while the right wing media is still slamming him. One minute he''s an apostate, next minute he''s the savior. Who knows, maybe next month Giuliani will make a comeback, and the month after Huckabee... lol

VoiceOReason,

Bill Clinton did a lot of good for the country?

I guess if you consider that after just 18 months of watching him in office, the American People overwhelmingly booted Dems out of office in the midterm elections and put the GOP in charge of both houses for the first time in 40 years, back in 1994.

From that point on, Clinton was basically a toothless president who had to swallow (much like Monica) everything that the Congress gave him.

That was all VERY good for the country.

Every success that Clinton claims during his presidency was from what a GOP Congress did.

THAT, and the semenn-stained blue dress, is his legacy.

Before Iowa, everyone was saying that Hillary was the de-facto nominee.

Back then all the Clinton camp was saying was that democrats shouldn''t tear each other down.

Now it''s ''time to grow a backbone,'' ''on-the-job training.''

Wow, how things have changed.
