Barack Obama will definitely pick a white running mate.

His VP probably will be Hillary. That would be the smart move.

Don"t forget all the animosity between Reagan and the Elder Bush, who memorably dismissed Reagan"s economic plans as "Voodoo Economics."

But they became a happy couple and lived happily ever after.

realpatriot, what happens to the black vote if in a "brokered" convention, Hillary is chosen.

I do not think Obama will choose VP as the animosity is too great.

In reality, it was probably Rove who hired Bush.

Vast-R-WCon,

Didn''t you hear that Rezco is buddies with the Clintons too? Now there''s an inconvenient truth!

Efarris38;

There are no winner-take-all primaries; everything is proportional, so he can overcome her winning all those states. If Edwards can hang in and Hill isn''t winning over 50% she won''t waltz to the nomination and all the ill will she''s brought upon herself could lead to her losing out in a brokered Convention.

Saty tuned for awhile and will see how well Hillary wears long term.

"Ice, his job is not the Supreme Court. They work with constitutional law. Which, BTW, is pretty boring........."

You have to know the Constitution in order to understand constitutional law.

And may I remind you, protecting and defending the U.S. Constitution is the **Number One** duty of an American president.

I furthermore submit, that a President who actually knows the Constitution backwards and forwards, will be able to protect and defend it better, than an ignoramus who is merely mouthing words when he takes the oath of office.

Ice, I agree he is smart and smart "can not be taught". Ya either got it or ya don''t.

Dubya is probably smarter than we realize as he hired Rove.

We"ve had a stupid president for the last 8 years. Karl Rove did his thinking for him.

Lets see what a brilliant man like Barack Obama can do.

I guarantee you Barack Obama could say "State of the Union" perfectly on the first try.

Knowing the U.S. Constitution well enough to be a lecturer on that subject at the University of Chicago (home of 81 Nobel Laureates) certainly won"t hurt.

"Barack Obama was a lecturer of constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1993 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004."

Anyone not impressed by that job, should try to apply for it Monday morning.

Even being admitted to that University as an undergraduate, is a noteworthy accomplishment.

EF, since most Presidents are elected by the majority of people who are "independents", that means the unfavorable rating in politics is the one MOST looked at. Not favorability.

Only small percentages of the electorate are either Democrats or Republicans. Independents rule in the National election.

Adiant - The Clintons brought race into this campaign in a strategic and cynical attempt to divide the Dem party in order to gain votes. Obama did not. It started with the Clinton campaign manager telling reporters that Obama was a "drug-dealer, muslim, etc. But why should we be surprised. Remember the 90s? Never before has the country been as divided as it was when Clinton left office. Now they have done the same to the Dem party in order to enjoy a third term in the White House. I''m shocked that the Dem leadership stands by helplessly watching the Clinton smear campaign unhinge the party, but I guess that''s what Democrats always do: sit back and let the scum seize power through lies and distortions.

The University of Chicago has included on its teaching staff, Barack Obama, Antonin Scalia, John Paul Stevens, Milton Friedman, John Dewey, Robert Lucas, T.S. Elliot, Bertrand Russell and many other luminaries too numerous to mention.

Too bad it isn"t good enough for ccjenkins3.

Ice, that does not seem like a lot of resume to me for a 50 something guy.......

Working as a lawyer for 3 years and then a "lecturer" for the next 8 years seems a little sparce....

I like the guy but his time in the State Legislature may be more important to America than his other experiences if he is going to run a government.

Politics are pretty ruthless in Illinois and that should prepare him.

Hillary also has the highest "favorable" RATING, no candidate in either party is higher than the mid-30''s except Clinton who is around 49%. Hillary will win Feb 5th unless there is some type of surprise we don''t know about. I don''t see how Obama can overcome Clinton wins in Calif,New York, Florida and Arkansas, all states where Hillary has a commanding lead.

"For Obama to be a Harvard Law School, magna c*um laude graduate and President of the Harvard review, why didn"t he have better law jobs after law school?"
- Posted by ccjenkins3 at 05:01 PM : Jan 26, 2008

These aren"t good enough jobs ?

"He completed his J.D. degree magna c*um laude in 1991. On returning to Chicago, Obama directed a voter registration drive. As an associate attorney with Miner, Barnhill & Galland from 1993 to 1996, he represented community organizers, discrimination claims, and voting rights cases.

He was a lecturer of constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1993 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004."

"Affiliated with 81 Nobel Prize laureates, the University of Chicago is widely regarded as one of the world''s foremost universities."

CBS News is as blatant as any media could be in its promotion of Rezko''s partner-in-crime, the empty-suit of BO.

It''s disgusting.

Idle, Hillary has the highest unfavorable rating of any candidate in either party - 47%. That means, 47% of Americans would vote for ANYONE other than Hillary. In contrast, Obama has a 20% unfavorable rating if I remember correctly.

realpatriot, your baseless and vindictive tone clearly demonstrates a finely-tuned conservative hatred for Hillary, while regularly trying to link Bill''s actions to Hillary. This might hold water, except it doesn''t. Consider the offspring of George HW Bush: his son showed none of the experience, intellect or control of the father. Still, I''m glad you''re able to sustain such a hatred for liberals; it will lead to early heart disease.
