Fred was the only conservative from the South in the race. I will now be moving to a Yankee, Mitt Romney, the only person still in the race who can fight for the American economy and create an environment where we can be competitive moving forward.

Thank you for running, Fred!

papabc - I agree. He is honest, and what you see is what you get. Unlike just about every other politician out there.

"I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort". What an ego for such a loser. Posted by cdfoxtrot

Yeah ? Well, the same can be said for you, foxtrots. And, at least Thompson knows when he has lost.

"markus: You''re delusional if you think Ron Paul stands a snowballs chance in hell of being the Republi-con candidate."

maybe so, but we are already in hell, so that puts him halfway there. it looks like in the least he will outlast several other ''frontrunners'' in the primaries. and he will outlast while being financed by regular joe shmo people proudly giving contributions in hard times, as well as extensive grassroots volunteering, who really want his message heard. something to be said for that. something very american.

also- agreed on wexler wants hearings- americans deserve the truth, were paying for it.

Fred Thompson did a great deal for the state of Tennessee as he would have for the whole country. What a great loss!

Oops, my mistake. Wexler only needs 50K signatures and already has 212K.
