- The writer of this news article has it dead wrong. Seems to me, at least in my neck of the woods, there are a lot of those ''senior folk'' who are not buying Clinton for a minute. Never WERE buying her - long before Obama became a force to be beckoned with - and for reasons having zip to do with him. Her ''vast
experience'' consists of 7 years in the Senate to his
12 years in the Senate. Period. End of story. She has nothing comparable to his accomplishments at the local level. And she seems completely oblivious to the effect of her mocking attitude toward the intelligence of the public that was displayed by her
answer to the ''your greatest weakness'' question in the recent debate.
But Obama''s a lot more than just ''an alternative''. He''s got statesman written all over him. In his
answers, in his bearing, in his ability to relate to
all different kinds of people. Smart and down to earth and with a quick sense of humor, confident and
inspirational. Its got nothing to do with either race or gender. Trying to suggest it does is nothing more than the media endlessly trying to ''pigeonhole''.
And as far as I can tell, the public for a change is
pretty much ignoring the media and making their own
call. Seems to me this sort of American surfaces as a political candidate about once every 40-50 years - if we can really lucky - and I do think it is about
hope.

- "but Barack and Edwards hand over their delegates and the superdelegates all endorse Gore, then maybe that''''s our best chance of securing a win . . . don''''t you think he''''d win for sure?

You know, I really wished Gore won in 2000, for two reasons ...
1) No shrub, no false flag 911 attack, no Iraq occupation
2) No BS on GW (I mean "Global warming"). - Reply to this comment
- Then why hasn''''t she apologized and said that she made a mistake, but she''''s just like Bush, and doesn''''t own up to her mistake, like many who voted have done.

If she has this problem about admitting a mistake, I haven''t seen enough mistakes then. I give her a pass on the Iraq vote because of all the lying that went with it. - Reply to this comment
- It''s not Obama''s rhetoric; it''s Hillary''s "35 years of experience"; experience, which has seemed to turn a lot of people off.

- I could be wrong, but I think Gore will still be a long shot, and the country''s pulse is toward the future. We are definately at an epic crossroads in our country''s history, such as the Great Depression, Civil War and Civil Rights eras.

- frankIy6,
It''s Sieg, not Seig! If you can''t get your spelling right, you''ve obviously made a mistake in the choice of candidate as well. Try reading a book on Hillary Clinton instead of believing Obama''s rhetoric. - Reply to this comment
- Barak Obama is not a Muslim!Barak Obama is not a Muslim!Barak Obama is not a Muslim! Barak Obama is not a Muslim! and even if he was it confirms my belief that we still continue to be a very racist country. The color of your skin still matters and the hatred from the Civil War continues to this day.It is very sad to think that in the 21st century we continue to argue about this topic. We have made such little progress as a nation. As we continue to argue about our ethnic heritage and whom is better than the other the sky continues to cry tears of sadness.

- HopesAlive, that was a great comment you made that looker quoted :)
In terms of the big picture, if ppl aren''t going to rally around Barack and Hillary for whatever reason, then maybe we need to seriously consider bringing Al Gore back into the picture if he''s willing, and we''re able to (like between Super Tuesday and the convention?). If Hillary''s the frontrunner, but Barack and Edwards hand over their delegates and the superdelegates all endorse Gore, then maybe that''s our best chance of securing a win . . . don''t you think he''d win for sure? - Reply to this comment
