- Americans--a feckless people..."Romney will save us...he invested in Staples"...Herbert Hoover ran a world wide engineering firm, the Belgium Relief that not only fed Belgium, but kept Germany in the war...and what did he do when the market collapsed from the machinations of the private bankers who ran the FED?...Romney will continue Bush''s wars...he is a War Pig who will load Americans up in the dog carrier atop his gas hog station wagon and run us off the cliff...Bush has brought us to the very precipice--and the mainstream candidates are vying for the privilege of taking us over into full blown economic collapse with world war as a distraction and an excuse for the Police State...

- The Republicans can''''t manage the Government because they don''''t beleive in it. They can''''t manage the war because the ChickenHawks never fought in one. So why do we vote for you. Bring on the Libertarian party, at least they believe in rational thought.

- Dr. Ron Paul is the only candidate in both parties who would protect and obey the Constitution.
He is also the only one who is anti-war and pro-liberty.

No I don''t want to but Bush should have closed Afghanistan, and Navy Sealed and Delta Forced into Pakistan way back and this would be done by now.

- NAFTA is imperialist. It preaches to other countries about what kinds of laws and regulations they should have %u2013 the social democratic mixed economy that is impoverishing us. NAFTA is, of course, not the free trade of Jefferson, Randolph, Taylor and Calhoun. It is trade for the few and not the many, for the particular interests and not the general interest.

I am not particularly proud of Clinton with NAFTA but it sure had a bunch of Republican support, particularly in the Union busting Red States. - Reply to this comment
- NAFTA established a trade block primarily to benefit government-connected corporations and banking interests. It invested new powers in the Executive to interfere with trade from non-North American nations. It''s a natural consequence of NAFTA that the US government would threaten trade war with Japan. It''s a natural consequence of NAFTA that the US would set up a multibillion dollar fund to support the Mexican peso. It''s a natural consequence of NAFTA that unprecedented levels of foreign aid would flow to Mexico City.

- We are surrounded by DC bureaucrats, NAFTA bureaucrats, UN bureaucrats, bureaucrats with the World Bank and the IMF, and assorted scalawags on the pay of the governing elites. If we are to restore liberty, limited and local government, free enterprise, and, yes, free trade, we must begin by understanding the power that a legitimate regionalism and an old-fashioned devotion to independence will have in uniting us against the forces of central control.
Big Nanny Government is taking our jobs away under the guize of free trade. - Reply to this comment
- The basic tenets of conservatism and the republican party is limited government, industry and self reliance. If you''''re looking for a handout you belong to the Dimnowit party. They are the party of welfare and Big Nanny Government. That''''s the difference.

That might be the philosophy, but where has it taken us over the last 50 years. Has it improved our education system. You Republicans have had control of Congres for 14 of the last 16 years. have you improved the Tax Code, fixed SSN, improved education even at the state level. What have you done to help the US middle class or lower class. The trickle down self reliance theory really works if you got a bit to start with. The answer me this riddle Mudrose, why is it that most of the self made Forbes 400, ie, Gates, Allen, Buffet Soros, not to mention the Google, Yahoo kids identify with the Democrats and not the Republicans. They were self reliant and came with little but they realize that govermnet is here to help the least of us. We can help the least of us and still be efficient and cost effective with the right priorities. 400 + bIllion in the Iraq is not limited government, not smart money. So basically Conservatives beleive in doing nothing. That''s what I thought.
