CBSNews.com's Vaughn Ververs: Clinton, Romney Try To Rebound From Iowa Losses During Back-To-Back Debates
- "At five acres (20,000 m), the central plaza in the Pentagon is the world"s largest "no-salute, no-cover" area (an area exempt from the normal rule that, when out of doors, U.S. military personnel must wear hats and salute superior officers). The open space in the center is informally known as "ground zero," a nickname originating during the Cold War and based on the presumption that the Soviet Union would target one or more nuclear missiles at this central location. At the center of this plaza is the "Ground Zero Cafe," a snack bar. At one point, a target was painted on the ground as a bit of gallows humor, but after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, it was painted over."

As I said, there is NO Ground Zero Cafe. And, not only for you but for ROWDY as well, if you worked there, you would know this. - Reply to this comment
- And if you want to try to use historical data to support that use of a standing army against competent guerillas, you''''ll have to deal with the following facts:
Colombia has been failing with that strategy on their own turf for over 40 years.
The Phillipines has been failing with that same strategy on their own turf for over 40 years.
Guatemala failed with it for 36 years.
We failed with it in Vietnam for 12 years.
The USSR failed with it in Afghanistan for 12 years.
We''''ve been failing with it for over 6 years in Afghanistan and nearly 5 years in Iraq.

FORMER -- Enlighten me. How did the Soviet Union fall? Who had a hand in that?
What guerillas in the Phillipines are you referring to? The Abu Sayyef?
Are we failing in Afghanista and Iraq? I say to you just like I say to JWHIT. Did Nostrodomus visit you recently?

It"s one of those interesting things you and I wouldn"t be aware of.
You would have had to have actually worked at the Pentagon to know this...

- Yes, I call you a terrorist sympathizer because that is exactly what you are.
All you have to do dude, is look back throught the history of terrorism to find out what they want.
When you do that, tell me how you''''re appeasment is going to satisfy them?
That is where you''''re going wrong....
History has already demonstrated that this is so. But yet, you still foster the idea that if we just pull back and let them have what they want, they will go awsy.....
It''''s not happening FORMER. It''''s not happening. No matter how bad you want it because you hate Bush, it''''s not happening. Not in your lifetime, and not in mine.

They want a "One World Government". Dont forget Baghdad, they think government should be allowed to run EVERYTHING. But yet, they can even run the VA correctly.
They claim to know all about the Constitution but yet, they dont seem to know what the govt''s main role is. - Reply to this comment

That''s already old news, Sir. Clinton tried to get the CIA and FBI to confirm their intelligence so he could get landing privilages to go after Osama. Out of retaliation, they with held that confirmation...and they kept with holding until the Neocon hired terrorists actually pulled of 9/11.

Iraq has been in conflict because of the politic of the different ethnic groups and religions for hundreds of years, and in more mordern times since after World War I. Sunni, Kurd, Shiites and even the Turks. They want to live together, they want to live in separate societies. We cant to expect to undo so many years of hostility between the different groups by occupying the country. - Reply to this comment
