The child approached her as a reporter, not a voter or a supporter. Chelsea made the statement that she does not talk to reporters. What is rude about that? - Reply to this comment

I guess relative to the way you conduct yourself she must seem world class - what''s with the insults? - Reply to this comment

Oh cripes, get of the rumor mill would ya? They have been investigated by every entity in the US. - Reply to this comment
- Frankly, I do not blame Chelsea. She has a life outside of politics and likes it that way. Anything she would have said would have been distorted by the press and the tabloids. That is something she, nor her parents, need or want.

I think you missed something in the article. she is actively involved in the campaign. Her brushoff whether rude or not seemed unnecessary - Reply to this comment
- From what I have learned, Chelsea handled the matter rather well. She politely said no and complimented the young lady.

- ""Was her $100,000 cattle futures windfall a rumor? No."" This unusually profitable investment is where Mrs. Clinton lost me. She had very proud and loud touted herself as a feminist. When she HAD to respond regarding the Refco deal she had her HUSBAND tell the press that she was PREGNANT when she made the investment and did not remember the details. Is that how she would run the oval office? OMG, isn''t that where B and M shared moments? Anyway, a real woman does not play the pregnant card and does not have her husband speak for her. Sen. Clinton is a fraud.

- MOST conservatives tend to hate liberals because they''re afraid of change, just like they were during the civil rights movements and the women''s lib movements. We''ve drastically altered this country for the better yet we should be hated for it???? If that''s so move to a country like Iraq where women are STILL considered as property, and then come back and tell me if we''re evil for changing that in this country.
If you wanna call a stereotype I can call one too. - Reply to this comment
- Right, Chelsea. A 9-year old should be playing with something else but the right of people to talk or to NOT talk. That''s what we know as freedom of speech. It does not matter if asked by a serious journalist of by a playing kid.

- One more thing...those people you reference who can''''t have a decent conversation? They''''re called liberals. If there is a conversation about plants, the moon or coffee, they will find a way to bash Bush. If a tragedy happens anywhere in the world, they will find a way to pin it on Bush. If there is any social problem whatsoever, Bush had something to do with it. In general, most of their posts are filled with hateful, vulgar and abusive language. Liberals are by far the most one-dimensional, vile and hateful people in the blogosphere.

Whatever happened to people not being based on stereotypes? I happen to be a liberal in the base meaning of an open-minded person. I agree with most if not all of the liberal ideals. I don''t blame Bush for everything, although he could have handled things better, he''s a human just like everyone else just he was placed in a position of power he wasn''t ready for and made mistakes. I don''t hate him for it, I certainly don''t use vulgar language about him and I''m not vile by any means I simply speak my mind. Last I heard that was covered by the first ammendment, never thought I''d be hated for recognizing my constitutional right... Guess I should have looked at history. - Reply to this comment

Taking a more cynical view, in terms of the political game if she had dismissed the interview less brusquely it wouldn''t be news the way it''s become now . . . - Reply to this comment

The little girl, definitely - Chelsea not so much. I was parroting the little girl to show that if somebody says something that''s slightly rude it''s better to try and be understanding and portray them in a positive light, even if they didn''t extend that gesture to you. Because maybe they''re not really like that you just caught them at a bad time.
It''s assuming the best of ppl, so while J-Whit you responded to me with class (as you''ve always shown me in the past), Chelsea is still an assumption.
Personally, I don''t think she intended to be so brusque - she just seems really shy and a little socially awkward. It''s just with my family we would have been breaking our back trying to give a kid a break - all Chelsea had to do was give one exclusive and that little girl''d have had the scoop of her life. What would have been the cost to Chelsea? - Reply to this comment

Are you sure that wasn''t LBJ? - Reply to this comment
- jwhitman, you may have stumbled on something there: "good upbringing & intelligence as well as great social sklls." Yes, I''m sure that''s what has been missing in the White House these past 84 months.
The Chelsea story is drivel. What conservatives were really wishing for was something like "Chelsea kicks 9 year old reporter in the groin and says Get out ya B%^*!" Then, by golly, they''d really have a campaign issue, ya sure, you betcha. - Reply to this comment
- Rowdy, no, they are unable to see how Bush''s unfettered waste in Iraq has affected so many other facets of America because they are compelled to try to defend Bush''s delusions to the majority of America, leaving no room in their consciousness for thinking outside the Bush box.

- If I campaigned for Huckabee, this doesn''t mean I should be interviewed as a spokesman for Huck. Chelsea is being a supportive family member, but is too young to more fully understand what''s at stake. Chelsea was told to not do any interviews, and she dutifully obeys.
