One of the issues that helped settle this country was religious freedom. It is pathetic that in a recent survey 39% of those polled would not vote for a Mormon. This is a country that has all kinds of other issues. But we forget that Bubba Clinton was photographed repeated after Monica walking out of church with a Bible in his hand. Romney has a lot of other presentation issues, his religion should stay out of the mix.

"Hutchins said the mailing hurts his temple, which, like the parent Mormon church, stays out of politics. "

"i looked this up, sounds a lot like antimormon stuff. i have learned when people refer to the lds church as the mormon church over and over again, it is usually antimormon related. one needs to look at the whole issue. and plus what good is a church and the people if a church does not let the people know where the church stands on its beliefs."--Posted by bdrlnt4rl

A religious authority stated to be of the Mormon faith in the above article, states that his religious organization does not become involved in politics. I say that''s a LIE, based on the involvement of the LDS Church ("the Mormons", as their own ads say) in the anti-gay marriage ballot initiative in California.

Churchs can be involved in politics, although they;re in danger of losing their tax exemption (like the Bushit regime went after an anti-war church), but this article explicitly states that the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints", i.e., "the Mormons" does not do so. That is false.

Righties playing victim again? The poor oppressed Conservative Christians? Bull.

the bible describes jesus apperance. does that make all people who believe in the bible racist?

Posted by bdrlnt4rl at 12:06 PM : Dec 30, 2007

The bible also describes God as having feet like bronze (which is dark brown) and hair like lambs wool (which is frizzy and curly) so what does it all mean? In other scriptures--it says no man can look upon the face of God and live...so where did the descriptions of his hair come from? go figure--God will probably appear to all racists on the day of judgement--in exactly the color they have hated all their times here on earth--then they can explain why they thought so little of HIM and his people...LOL.

That is--to white racists, he will appear ebony black and obviously Negroid. To Black racists, he will be amazingly white and a white person, those Christians who despise Muslims will find themselves facing a God with a headwrap and obviously Arabic and for oriental haters, God will Have oriental features--it would be a hilarious moment--except for all the screaming and lamenting that will be accompanying all of them as they fall through the trap door to hell.

"They have no business using that name or referring to the temple," Hutchins said. "It''s a very hurtful thing and creates a misleading impression in peoples'' minds." Hutchins said he alerted Tagg Romney, one of Romney''s sons, and church authorities about the mailings."

What exactly is hurtful and misleading? Are those words and that teaching part of the Mormon belief? If so, why is it hurtful? Because it will keep a Mormon out of the white house? Because is will show the racist side of the church? Because it will cause other Christians to regard Mormonism as blasphemy?

To be unfair--it should also be untrue. If their scriptures do indeed state these things--they have only themselves to blame--if others pull out these words to beat them over the head with. After all, even if they don''t promote it--it IS what they believe and we should know what kind of people we are putting in the White House. Not that Mitt really had a chance anyway.

Oh yeah, tell that to the people of California where the Mormon Church and the Catholic Church spearheaded the anti-gay marriage initiative. That''''s politics!

I don''t get it. If these cards are misquotes, then I see the issue. If not, these are some of their believes and they should stand by them.

Mountain Meadows Massacre in the 1800''''s

Posted by piercetheval

read up on the history of the mormons in missouri, what they went thru there was nothing compared to Mountain Meadows. it is just that the mormons do not glamourize things and cry and complain like others choose to. the extermination order was lifted in the 1980''s giving permission to kill a mormon on site. look it up. and think twice about your comments.

huck says that if everything romney says about him is true, huck would not even vote for himself, think about, if everything that was said about the mormons was true, there would be no mormons. it is called typical antimormon brainwashing, mainly done by the baptist. they are the kings of brainwashing, that is why huck scared me. i love my mormon neighbors. honest and not ashamed to have me, an african american, over for dinner. this card is obvious to be antimormon, and people are yet brainwashed to the goofy things people say.

"Such a mailing isn''t surprising for South Carolina politics, a state known for political mudslinging and backdoor maneuvering."

Get real. Such a tactic isn''t surprising for the GOP, the party of the "moral" majority. This party has an ingrained culture of deception and cunning that is making its mark in American history in the presidency of George Bush.

Now if this isn''t the definition of what it means to be a successful "Republican" these days...playing two sources of moral guidance against each other for (im/a)moral purposes.

No wonder lying just to start a war is no big deal to them.

"It is sad and unfortunate that this kind of deception and trickery has been employed," said Will Holley, Romney''s South Carolina spokesman. "There is absolutely no place for it in American politics."

Yes, it was I guess now that the Republicans are swift boating themsleves it means we are in for a lot more of it in the coming elections.

Of course the only ones who get upset now with the swift boat tactics are the ones who are doing it. What happened to the swift boaters.

Did someone say Christianity (TM) IS WHAT GOT ''W'' elected? I thought it was the computer. Remmber 666 is WWW when read in Hebrew. The Devil is active and the game is afoot. Also, for those interested, 888 (the Christ number) is *** in Hebrew. I would never vate for any candidate that is Mormon, refer to the Mountain Meadows Massacre in the 1800''s to understand my position on this. They believe the Negro to be some sort of sub-standard being in addition to being basically a ''Flying Saucer Cult''. Aum Tat Sat Aum. Eck Kan Kar Sat Nam Siri Wha Guru. PTV.

Another round of Christians warring with Christians. Religious folks refuse to handle their wares "only" inside their churches/synagogues/temples/mosques. Why do they insist upon "invading" public domain?
