J, what I have read is that when people are concerned about threats they migrate to Hillary. If they do not worry about an attack, they are more focused on domestic/soft issues which becomes Obama.

Huckabee is in somewhat the same situation. Giuliana loses poll votes as the threat subsides.

So, if Hillary and Rudy hope to win their primaries they would be helped by a terrorist event.

Personally, I believe we need the pendulum to swing back to the middle with some attention to domestic issues but "needing" does not do away with the terrorist threat as witnessed in Italy, Britain, Algeria and elsewhere except the US.

So, if we end up with "soft" choices for President, they are going to need the real deal for VP.

King, it was not solid steel core.

It is steel enfolded in concrete. More concrete than steel. Sold steel would be too heavy for that heighth of building. If pure steel, the building would have collapsed under its own weight......

Design did not call for concrete/steel piers in the middle which would have impeded the plane through the floor and would have helped support the floors above. New designs require the concrete/steel piers on the floors.

J, I would never have thought that this year would have gone like it has for Bush. I was pretty sure that the war would wind down but Bush overpowering the Congress is a big surprise.

And, now, it seems like Obama and Huckabee have a chance for the nomination. Who knew.

King, the fallacy in your hypothesis is that there were not steel beams to speak of. That was the WTC design deficiency. The building was built around a concrete core that was undersized and the horizontal supports carried the floors. That is why it collapsed like an accordian.

What you are seeing is the facade being ejected.

don - cmon, that is such a reach ... every steel beam in perfect sequence being ejected in some cases hundreds of feet to allow a 110 story building to fall at near free fall speed (10 sec) - where''s the pancake (theory) ? why was all the concrete pulverized -- EVERY quality of the WTC collapse fits the model of controlled demolition yet the NIST, FEMA and the 9/11 cOmission failed to consider it .. hmmm - all Bush appointees perhaps ?

King, actually, most of America saw the second plane hit "live".

We have talked before on here about the design of the WTC and how the plane had almost no vertical supports to impede it through the floor and the heat melting the horizontal supports resulting in the vertical crashing of the floors.

It is just impossible to pull off that size of a conspiracy in this day and age. If the photos were true, he would be on Oprah.

Friend of mine was downtown three blocks from WTC when it happened. Saw the second plane.
