Comments on: Huckabee Apologizes For Mormon Remark
GOP Candidiate Tells Romney He Shouldn't Have Asked If Mormons Believe Jesus, Devil Are Brothers
- The Wisconsin state tree "celebrates one holiday, and that holiday is Christmas," said sponsor Rep. Marlin Schneider, D-Wisconsin Rapids. "It was called a Christmas tree from 1916 until 1985, when political correctness took over, and then we decided it would become a holiday tree. But what it really is, is a Christmas tree, and there''s nothing really wrong with that."
Bruce Hausknecht, judicial analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said he couldn''t agree more.
"There''s absolutely nothing wrong, constitutionally speaking, with government acknowledging the real name for this season," he said. "As John Adams famously stated: ''Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.''
"The First Amendment was designed to protect and nurture our religious expression, not prohibit it."

Here''s something you''ll be proud of and it will finally put to rest all this b.s. about separation of church and state.
The House resolution: "(1) recognizes the Christian faith as one of the great religions of the world; (2) expresses continued support for Christians in the United States and worldwide; (3) acknowledges the international religious and historical importance of Christmas and the Christian faith; (4) acknowledges and supports the role played by Christians and Christianity in the founding of the United States and in the formation of the western civilization; (5) rejects bigotry and persecution directed against Christians, both in the United States and worldwide; and (6) expresses its deepest respect to American Christians and Christians throughout the world.%u201D
Compliments of Rep. Steven King. It passed in the house with a vote of 372-9. Wait there''s more coming. - Reply to this comment
- I don''t understand what all the hullabaloo is about. He just asked a question of something he wasn''t sure about. What is wrong with asking to have something clarified? Why is the media making such a big deal about someone asking a question?

Since the other candidates don''t have anything to say on what they can do for America, they take the easy road and resort to taking cheap shots at Mike. Don%u2019t fall into their trap any longer with negative attacks, let''s show the critics and the naysayers that Americans have pride and we are ready to elect an honest, humble, trustworthy man for US President. - Reply to this comment

- And, yes, for the record, the Mormons believe that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers. The story goes that they both sat at the table with the Father to discuss saving mankind from their sins. Lucifer wanted to enslave the human race and make them accept himself as their leader and savior. Jesus offered, instead, to die for the sins of the people and give them a choice. God liked Jesus'' plan better. So, Lucifer rebelled, got 1/3 of the angels to join him. It is also the belief of the Mormon Church that we are all angels in a human body, sent here to be tested. Lucifer and his angels, apparently, didn''t get granted the priviledge, therefore, they lurk about as wandering, mischievious spirits full of jealousy. But, again, we''re not here to look at the religion. We''re here to look at the man. I doubt very seriously that he takes that doctrine to heart.

I would not presume to put down the honest to God good works of any peoples. The only question I might ask is, do they do it out of the goodness of their heart as one human being to another and not the glorification of any one entity. It gives too much opportunity for one group to say they are better than another group because they do this. I am a proponant that even the smallest kindness that one does for another is great in the eyes of the God I believe in. And I know there are those among us who do good works that are not religious people.
My jest in the post was at these two men only. I commend Mr. Romney that he tried to avoid the issue of faith in his campaign. Unfortunately he was pushed into it because of the circumstances of the mistakes of the leaders of his party that feel they have to court the religious right to get elected. And, I find it ironic that these two men of faith will turn around and stab each other with the sharpness of the political knife.
Politics and the elction process has become a shameful entity at the altar of corruption. - Reply to this comment

- Huckabee constantly proves why he should not be president of the US from his poor lack of character assessment (the rape case) to his lack of critical thinking on the Aids issue and now again with these remarks out of ignorance.
