Sen. Joe Biden on Tuesday was incredulous over President Bush''s statement that he learned only last week that a recent intelligence estimate says Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003. "If that''s true ... he''s one of the most incompetent presidents in modern American history." Biden said

there is no doubt that those who are involved in these terrrorist acts are war criminals.
Even these soldiers though, deserve an apology from the Regime and collaborators who fraudelantly placed them in this situation in the first place.

Thank you for saying that, I was getting worried aboutn you. I know that every War has its atrocities and cruelties, I know from experience that all soldiers are not criminals. In fact very few are, probably the same percentages as in any country of good civillians to criminal ones. War is hell and ssometimes it brings out the very worst in people and sometimes it brings out the Very best. (We just don''t get media coverage of ''good acts'' like we do evil ones.)

boatquack,

Re: "To FeelFree1, "Many of them are without a doubt". war criminals? How would you know,"

Intentionally/recklessly killing, raping, torturing, maiming, and/or soddomizing civilians is always a war crime. The fact that these kinds of heinous acts kinds of occurences have taken place in Iraq, on a horrific scale, is not in question.

From the torture of Ubu Ghraib, to the gang-rape, murder, and mutilation of a young girl, and the execution of her family, to the cowardly mass-murders who slaughtered civilians in Haditha, to the trigger-happy idiots who shot even more unarmed innocent Iraqi civilians just today, there is no doubt that those who are involved in these terrrorist acts are war criminals.

Even these soldiers though, deserve an apology from the Regime and collaborators who fraudelantly placed them in this situation in the first place.

The real threat to us isn''t posed by states, it''s posed by shadowy groups with no return address.

I am so glad to see someone that sees beyond their own nose. It never has been about Muslims in general, only about mindless zealots obtaining Nooks. None of the other nations will risk Total Annihilation by using their nooks except as a absolute LAST resort. The Zealots (extremists) have no such compuntions because they think ''they'' can force Armageddon or what ever by making Israel attack them. (Christians have the same type prophesies, but are willing to wait on GOD to move when he is ready). "we too have our loose screws as does any group of people"

"How about the fact that Iran has been openly aiming to "wipe Israel from the face of the map" and to "remove America as a world power"?

Not specific enough for you?

Dont you know a direct threat when you hear it?"

Its ALL fluff and BS by a guy who loves publicity and a reaction, Iran knows that if they bomb Israel with a nuke, WE will wipe Iran off the face of the map with ours, Iran would cease to exist as a viable livable country.
Learn how to separate the big dik syndrome BS from real threats. They announce those "threats" because they LOVE watching us get all excited and upset, it''s like the bully in school who calls you names to watch you cry and get upset- he does it only BECAUSE you give him exactly what he wants- a reaction, and we are good at doing that EVERY TIME like the dumb sheeple we er- YOU ALL are in this country, I don''t fall for those kinds of BS.

To FeelFree1, "Many of them are without a doubt". war criminals? How would you know, oh yes you read the news and watch CNN. As for you feeling sorry for these volunteer soldiers, don''t use up your fingernail polish time, we don''t want it and don''t need it. If you were not there in person then there is now way for you to know anything about anything. This latest Bush-bashing report, there is too much information missing and people like you leave off key parts of this paper, an estimate! guess work! that is all it is, didn''t people learn from the last "slam dunk" information? Please save us from these expert opinions! Look at the timing of this! Does it make Pres. Bush look bad? Does it improve the position of the Bush-haters? Do the math! Iran is a bad country and we have to stay focused on all of their ativity.

cdfoxtrot,

Re: "You can''t expect to be taken seriously if you don''t apply the same standards equally across the board."

Granted, I was being somewhat hyperbolic by referring to Chevron as a petro-terrorist organization.

On a more serious note, our armed forces, spooks, and "contractors", have in the past, and continue thru this day, to participate in countless acts of terrorism. I don''t think that you would dispute this.

Does that make them all terrorist organizations? It depends on one''s perspective, I would think.

Are "our troops" war criminals? Although many of them are without a doubt, I can''t say for sure for the rest. I view them more as victims of the Regime, than anything else, but after so many years and presumably at least one opportunity to decline re-enlistment, it is getting harder and harder to feel very sorry for these all volunteer soldiers.

I say ******* the New World Odor.

I suppose they all want to distance themselves from Iraq policy, which at least one of them supported initially. Funny how that works. Deciding to go to war is kinda like deciding to get pregnant. Once you are there, you can''t say, "oops - that was a mistake."

Oh, I''m sorry. I guess the left feels abortions are ok for this reason. Well so much for that analogy.

It sould be funny to see Ms Hillary attack someone as president, and then say oops. But, don''t laugh. That''s what she is trying to tell us about Iraq.

Yeah - she''s the best qualified of the Democrats alright. Now, that''s a sad statement.

I am still here - Nikita isn''t - so what is your point !!

An indepenant candidate will find he/she has no clout when it comes to thwarting the plans of former presidents and Big Business. Forced ''Globalization'' is all but ''signed, sealed and delivered''and Congress is in it up to their eyeballs.

By "petro-terrorist" I am referrong to multinational oil coporations who rape and pillage the planet for profit, driving illegal wars, trading with our stated enemies, and funding rape, torture, and murder operations in order to boost their own profits; corporations like Chevron.

I think that these activities easily qualify as terrorism, by any widely accepted standard.

Posted by FeelFree1

So, by this broad "definition" of terrorism, would you consider the US Army to be a terrorist entity, given what it has done in Vietnam and Iraq? How about the Israeli Defense Forces, given its activities against Palestinian civilians? You can''t expect to be taken seriously if you don''t apply the same standards equally across the board.

papabc,

Let''s have a reality check here. I don''t doubt that the President of Iran has delusional wet dreams of destroying Israel and the U.S. In the real world he knows that would be national suicide.

We have the capability to literally blow him out of the water, out of the skies, and into center earth.

We are supposed to have the wisdom and competence to use that power in a rational and measured way, to not beat the drums of war when we know the perceived threat is not credible.

The current members of the "nuclear club"(U.S., Russia, China, U.K, France, India, Israel, South Africa, Pakastan, North Korea, etc.) have the means to destroy others. They are deterred by the reality of mutually assured destruction if they launch against another member, but not if they launch against a non-member. That''s why in the hot spots of the world, the emergence of one nuclear power tends to lead to proliferation. That''s expecially the case when those already in the club refuse to commit to no first use.

The power club wants to lord their power over others, and that''s why the U.S. & Israel don''t want Iran to join the club and why Russia doesn''t want anti-missle systems in eastern Europe.

The real threat to us isn''t posed by states, it''s posed by shadowy groups with no return address.
