We are in this Iraq Quagmire because of the Republicans in Congress.

In October 2002, 97% of Republican Congressmen voted in favor of the ill-conceived invasion.

House of Representatives: 215 out of 221 Republican Representatives voted in favor of Quagmire in October 2002.

Senate: 48 out of 49 Republican Senators voted in favor of Quagmire in October 2002.


Whereas 147 out of 257 Democrats in Congress voted against the Authorization to Use Force in Iraq, in October 2002.

For the math challenged, that''s a majority AGAINST the invasion. (Admittedly a small one: 57%)
