If it is good for America, you can bet shrub will veto it. This idiot has lost all touch with reality. He veto''s support for the troops ''cause he''s nuts. He veto''s support for kids ''cause he''s nuts. He veto''s support for education ''cause he''s nuts. He doesn''t veto support for his rich buds ''cause he''s nuts. In short, he''s nuts.

Your not a child when you are 25 years old and your family income is $80,000.00. Vote No!

"This will no doubt be vetoed, and the Republicans will present a common-sense bill that simply extends the benefits for the poorest children directly after this one is soundly defeated."

You called "vetoed" "soundly defeated" ? Defeat will be seen in Nov ''08 if Diebold doesn''t cheat again.

"The 159 House votes opposing the SCHIP bill should give Bush enough cushion to sustain his veto, as House leaders expect few members to switch positions. "

Well, needs only 9 of them ... not a very thick cushion.

Bush hates sick children and loves to see them suffer.

erichsh, One_American:

Sadly, I don''t believe either of you have any clue how expensive it is to pay for monthly health insurance premiums for a family including children, even if your employer covers some of the cost.

$80,000 is NOT a lot of money when one is trying to raise a family in today''s economy, ESPECIALLY in the highly dense populated areas where the cost of living is astronomical.

One reminder for you both:

Nancy Pelosi comes from San Francisco, a city (and region) that has one of the highest cost of living requirements anywhere. $80,000 a year for a family living in or near San Francisco, is the equivalent of approximately $25,000 a year in Kansas City, Little Rock, Dallas, Houston, Birmingham, Omaha.... etc.

This program is not designed to help all the family members in that income bracket (though it should), it is only for the children of those families in that income bracket!

It is sadly typical of people like you who NEVER put yourself into the "shoes" of others, but only look at the world through your extremely narrow perspective.

EXTREMELY NARROW.

The Bush Administration:

No special interest left behind.

Their only directive that has been fully funded by our tax dollars, (if not over-funded).

Nancy Pelosi has to be the biggest fool ever to serve in Congress.

Rather than make a sensible bill that extends the health benefits for Americas poorest children, she concocts a stupid bill that forces children in households that make up to $80,000 a year onto government-run health care.

This will no doubt be vetoed, and the Republicans will present a common-sense bill that simply extends the benefits for the poorest children directly after this one is soundly defeated.

No-good Nancy and her do-nothing Congress - they have earned their all-time low approval rating of 11%!
