See cnn and Freep for info on Jay Garity, senior Romney campaign staffer and longtime aid.

Garity fabricated an ''''official'''' law enforcement badge, then impersonated law enforcement agents. Boston Globe: www.boston.com/news/local/article
s/2007/06/22/romney_aide_is_the_focus_of
_probe/ and from FreeP: www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1869453/posts

From the Hearld: "The campaign source said the badges were used extensively by Garrity and staffers on Romney''''s advance team, which is responsible for coordinating events for his presidential campaign. Sometimes, the source said, a staffer would use a badge for crowd control to restrict access to Romney. Other times, they were flashed to gain quick access to emergency exits and back hallways at campaign venues. In at least one instance, a staffer used a badge to go through a Massachusetts Turnpike toll booth without paying, the source said. In addition to Garrity, other aides who used the badges included advance staffers Mark Glanville and William Ritter, the source said. "

It is (1) a serious crime, (2) done by a senior long time staffer, (3) for the benefit of the campaign, (4) that was widely known within the campaign. Did the campaign pay for the badges? How come no anti-corruption statement from Mitt?

Great follow-up: is Garrity back with the campaign? What is the status of various state prosecutions of Garrity? If he is back, did he really take leave of absence (or just paid to work at home)?

Romney is a failed one term governor who would lose in his own state against any of the top three Democrats if the election were here today.

Romney takes credit for a heath plan largely similar to Democrat''s, then hypocrite Romney attacks the Democratic plans.

Worst of all, there is a rumour he is supported by the Bush crime family / Jeb.

His campaign apparently created attack site ''phonyfred.com'' then lied about it: http://www.democrats.org/a/2007/09/phoneyfredorg_u.php

This will be the most expensive vanity campaign in history.

I also have no doubt that even the older, more establish cults like Judaism and Christianity had people poking rightful fun at them in their early days. It just seems to me that if you take a close look at any religion they''''re all about as equally silly.

No doubt. Although I think it is pretty silly to believe that a Angel named Maroni gave Joe Smith golden tablets written in magic hieroglyphics which only he could read with the help of a magic crystal. I''m sorry, that''s too much! At least the stories in the OT and NT have some literary value. The Book of Moron wouldn''t even make compelling day time television!

Moses, Jesus, Mohammed . . . no prison records for these guys. It''''s easier to suspend your disbelief when your prophets are mythical or semi-mythical figures with little historical paper trail to contest their miraculous deeds.

Well of course Jesus was arrested and executed, so there''s that. Still I think that it''s really the relative newness of cults like Mormonism and Scientology that makes them easier to ridicule and to be seen as laughable, but I also have no doubt that even the older, more establish cults like Judaism and Christianity had people poking rightful fun at them in their early days. It just seems to me that if you take a close look at any religion they''re all about as equally silly.

Former New York Mayor Giuliani drew boisterous bursts of applause, At one point, he asked: "Do we go in the direction of much larger government, which is where Hillary (Rodham) Clinton, Barack Obama or John Edwards will take us, or do we go in the direction of ... giving people more control over their own lives?"

Hahahaaa..from the BIGGEST control freak and hypocrite every to serve!!! He wants to finish the job Bush has started, which is to ignore, isolate, or punish anyone who dares disagree with him.

I don''''t think anyone takes mormons very seriously. Except maybe mormons. A lot of them are good people, but not real bright in the old noggin'''' if you know what I mean. For god sake, their prophet was a convicted con man! How naive do you have to be to believe a convicted con man was a prophet?

I don''t know, I think there is a range of gullibility. Joe Smith is a historical figure with a historical record of swindling people in NY State. If you believe he is a prophet, you might as well believe OJ is a prophet or Barry Bonds . . .

Moses, Jesus, Mohammed . . . no prison records for these guys. It''s easier to suspend your disbelief when your prophets are mythical or semi-mythical figures with little historical paper trail to contest their miraculous deeds.

who recognize Mutt''''s mormon cult for what it is....a cult of the most dangerous kind.

All religions start out as cults and the truth is they all stay one, just larger. They all have equally silly stories that try to explain creation, the world, people, etc. to the simple minded people who follow them and they all have the same basic claim, we''re right and everyone else is wrong. The fact is they''re all wrong. There is no god. Never has been.

man, you have been mesled. maybe you get you facts in order before you post a comment.

What part do you take offense with? What facts do I have wrong? Are you suggesting that good ol'' Joe Smith wasn''t charged in NY State with swindling people using seeing stones? Even the LDS church doesn''t deny that . . .

Or maybe you took offense with the fact that I think most mormons are good people, just a lttle gullible?

plus, I would vote for someone who actually lives what they teach, than someone who goes to church and then out to eat saying they are keeping Sunday Holy. Mainstream Christianity seems to have developed into nothing but hypocrocy. look it up.
