Them and other common criminals are the reason I own a weapon. Though I must admit I''m much less worried about the average street thug then the fascist neocons. If we just restricted gun ownership in America, as other Constitutional rights are restricted by law, there wouldn''t be a problem.

Make gun ownership dependent on a good credit rating and a sworn oath, under penalty of perjury, that the swearer is not an abuser of alcohol or other mind altering substances.

That would eliminate 99% of the bad and irresponsible people right there.
