- A general is a troop? Oh my god. Dude, a general is not a troop. A general is a political butter bar. Who long since turned in his combat boots fer slippers.

- mbcsmith: The libs don''t hate this country. They hate King George. He''s the biggest enemy this country has. He''s screwed up everything he''s touched in 7 years. Are you better off now than you were 7 years ago? C''mon be truthful.

- I hope all you vietnam vets that are bashing the Iraq war remember how you felt when you returned to all the pot smoking free *** hippies calling you baby killers.
Just remember, the troops don''''t make the rules. A general is a "troop" as well.

Not quite ! Especially a general that writes OpEd pieces just before an election - that is political. Washington Post 9/26/2004.
Everything was just wonderful then too.

Im with ya Carter anti Semitic no way his book was extremely thoughtful, this is the neo conservative RNC distraction so you wont discuss the substance of the issue he raises, which is that Isarels policy and US support of Israeli are reeking havoc in the Region adn dragging the US into perpetual conflicts against other countries. The Settlers have to go; the node and the wink by Israel and the US are destructive to peace and wrong. These are occupied territories. When I look at the funds coming into to our politicians from the Lobby and these special groups like, Swift Boat and Freedom Watch by self acclaimed friends of Israeli it does beg to ask why, if Israeli policy and the US are the same why would you need to buy opposition to the majority of Americans? Congress should hold hearings on the influence of Israel on American Policy in the region and the distribution of foreign aid, Israel a wealthy county is currently receiving 20 percent of that dose not make sense.
President Carter is not an anti Semtic and the charge outrageous for such a Statesman. But what is different about vicious attacks from the Right lie smear exaggerate distort can CHANGE THE DISCUSSION. And at all cost keep competent moral ethical leaders out of office or listened to, this dishonesty is subverting our Government and the will of the People.- Reply to this comment
- MoveOn.org erred; somebody got carried away with their childish pun. When they said "General Petraeus or General Betray Us?", they created an implied insult.
If they''d had the wit to say "Will General Petraeus betray us?", they''d have been asking a legitimate question. - Reply to this comment
