Comments on: Student Tasered At John Kerry Forum
University Of Florida Student Arrested After Asking Senator Several Questions
- Kerry had a chance to be a cool dude. He could have said something like:
"I think I hear where you''re coming from. Come down here and take the mic for 1 minute and speak you peace. I remember what it was like when I was young".
But Kerry gave the hand signal to security to get the tazered!

- ourtomorrows,,, Good post,, but I beleive the student''s questions had nothing to do with why Kerry was there, he was correct to remain silent rather than engage in old GOP rhetoric & endless fights.

- If I were senator Kerry, I would be FURIOUS. That was totally uncalled for. I am sure that four big policeman could have controlled this kid with out risking killing him with a taser. The taser is the police''s newest toy, and they just can''t resist.

- Exactly what should have happend to the young man for refusing to behave in a respectful and appropriate manner. They were not sensoring he speech, they were attempting to maintain order. He has his time at the microphone, Senator Kerry, who I personally find to be less than a stellar senator, had a right not to answer the student''s question. Badgering someone over and over again is not what free speech is all about. It is nice to finally see a college crack down on these kind of antics. If a professional reporter EVER acted like that at politician''s news conference, a briefing by emergency officials, anything you can really think of, he or she would be escorted out. Why should there be different standards for someone because they are a college student. Free speech is most effective when courtesy and respect are part of it, the kid deserved what he got. Because you are 21 and in college does not mean the expectations of regular society do not apply to you, it is a lesson that hopefully he has now learned.

- This makes Kerry look really bad. Kerry was a radical in his own day, acting out much worse than this. Now Kerrys security is tazering students at Kerrys own events.
..... the times they are a changin.....

- Close the michrophones...shut down open forums...and take back the right to question candidates...it''s not worth the risk of being tasered. The guy should have been allowed to walk out once the 4 guards had their hands on him. They had made their point that he was no longer welcome. He wanted to leave. Kerry acknowledged his question, which should have been a cue that the situation was capable of de-escalation. Cops just can''t help themselves with these toys they''re given...electrodes that cause convulsions and seizures...who wouldn''t want to watch someone go through that? They are repulsive...simply repulsive.

- bizzzz, yeah, there were no a$$holes or idiots in the world before liberal college professors came along and indoctrinated an entire generation.
Man, you guys have a pathetically stunted one track mind - where everything in the world boils down to being the liberals fault. When was the last time you ever had an independent thought? 1986? 1973?
Clowns are clowns, whatever their political perspective may be. You, for example, would be living proof of this. - Reply to this comment
- What is it with these hayseed "police departments" that are actually rent-a-cop forces that are EVERYWHERE nowadays having TASERS ?? How on earth did these toys of death become legal ?
Two burly rent-a-cops, obviously far larger than this whimp kid that was ''resisting,'' just HAD to use the TASER on him - for WHAT ?? Cuz he wasn''t OBEYING the Republishit Party members'' orders to be quiet ?
The answer: Better screening of candidates for ''rent-a-cop'' agencies to keep crazed Republicrap adherents with itchy TASER fingers OUT...and the prompt BANNING of TASERS nationwide.
We can start the latter under Madame President Clinton''s administration. - Reply to this comment

- John Kerry must be really proud of that nut. After all, that''s our liberal college professors at work, teaching our kids unlawful displays of dissention and public disorder.
I bet you that kid probably gets a automatic "A" in all of his classes for whining like a little b!tch. - Reply to this comment
