Yes, there is inequality at birth. However, government can not overcome all of this unless we are communists and give up on our nation''s reason for existance.

The rich do get a head start (luck?) but many poorer have an opportunity to receive at birth good IQ''s and have parents who care and nurture responsibility and work ethic.

Should we punish those who do well? How many billionaires come from the rich versus self made, I wonder. Not seen data on that but I suspect it is mostly self made and not inherited.

Where does government belong? That is a good question for the 2008 elections.

Of course, it ignores the financial assistance the wealthy give their children to ensure they are educated "at the best schools" which ensures a huge bias towards the wealthy on that chart of "economic success"...

And it ignores the prediliction of those who attend "the best schools" to hire others who attended "the best schools", which eliminates "work ethic, location, and luck" as a "proof" of fairness in America.

And since tax law has been reshaped to force more of America''s income into the top 5% of America''s economic ladder from the bottom 95%, that means the wealthy will be passing more wealth down to their descendents, creating a loop.

They''ve gone and shot holes in the fabled "American Dream".

Ken Lay''s actions ocurred during "Clinton''s" presidency in the "whatever it takes and you want" period in America. The "New" economy line....... There was no SEC oversight and the gold rush was on.... except, it was fools gold.
