We attacked Serbia to honor our NATO collective security aggreements with our European allies and to end ethnic cleansing. You now want us to stay in Iraq to control but not end ethnic cleansing.

pwrslm,

We heard the same kind of rosy scenario predictions from this Pentagon prior to the Iraqi invasion. You''re no patriot if you support national and international suicide.

Before Iraq, the Pentagon said they knew exactly where the WMD was. They were right, it was nowhere and they knew it.

If Bush does try to use nukes, I believe the real patriots(not you or me)in the military will stop him.

If he launches a conventional Blitzkreig against the Iranian military but does not use nukes, it will show the world that nukes were not the real reason for the attack and the damage to our international reputation will be damaged even more.

Not smart.

conventional air strikes are not enough to win a "war" against Iran because they have millions in uniform who will defend their homeland and we are stretched so thin that a land invasion under most circumstances is out of the question. The only way to "win" a war with Iran will be to use massive numbers of battle field size, so-called "tactical", nuclear weapons
Posted by SgtRDS

I can tell you are no patriot of the US. Funny thing is, your making conclusions that really ignore half the battle plan, and draw a conclusion that nuclear weapons have to be used to defeat Iran.

THE Pentagon has drawn up plans for massive airstrikes against 1,200 targets in Iran, designed to annihilate the Iranians%u2019 military capability in three days, according to a national security expert.

"...as of August of %u201903, 8.3-million new jobs have been added to the nation%u2019s payrolls..."

Sadly, most of the "new jobs" are minimum wage, NO benefits jobs. The lost jobs had provided decent living to millions. How wonderful is that?

Scottyusa,

Sometimes a good defense is a good offense. Military analysts who''ve studied our military options are unanimous in their opinion that this isn''t one of those instances.

I thought like you until i studied the situation further. What the analysts agree upon is that we can''t be sure that an air attack would be effective, short of using nukes. Using nukes might not work either since we can''t be certain on the targeting and the collateral damage should give any sane person pause.

Using nukes to prevent the use of nukes defeats its own purpose.

Russia & China would both come to Iran''s defense and it could possibly set off a global nuclear war that we are not prepared to deal with, to put it mildly.

It would be the height of insanity.

lars008,

No vital U.S. interests are involved in Iraq. Sadaam did not attack us or threaten us in any way. He was a threat to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, not us. Saudi Arabia attacked America on Sept. 11, not Iraq. War was not inevitable, the no-fly zone was working and so were the U.N. weapons inspections.

We attacked Serbia to honor our NATO collective security aggreements with our European allies and to end ethnic cleansing. You now want us to stay in Iraq to control but not end ethnic cleansing.

Blabber on, Brenda.

Our Prophet commanded us to fight the kaafirs when we are able and to attack them in their homelands and to give them three choices before we enter their lands: either they become Muslim and be like us, sharing our rights and duties; or they pay the jizyah (poll tax) and feel themselves subdued; or they fight, in which case their wealth, women, children and homes become permissible as booty for the Muslims.

hahahahahaha

klintoon attacked the serbs who did nothing to the usa... instead of attacking fascist nazi terrorislam that had declared war on the usa and the serbs...

the war is legal

the resumption of hostilities was only a matter of time since iraq broke the ceasefire agreement.....

blame saddam for iraq%u2026%u2026. Even clintoon and the dems wanted the resumption of hostilities back in 1998

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"Iraq''s search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power." - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

Moreover, no international law can prevent the United States from taking actions to protect its vital interests, when it is manifestly clear that there is a choice to be made between law and survival. I believe, however, that such a choice is not presented in the case of Iraq. Indeed, should we decide to proceed, that action can be justified within the framework of international law rather than outside it. In fact, though a new UN resolution may be helpful in building international consensus, the existing resolutions from 1991 are sufficient from a legal standpoint. - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

The psychopaths at the helm of the US government must be stopped at all costs. They represent a cancer...a metastasized cancer that has spread throughout the body politic of the nation.

This link contains an article with a video of film that was air on the DISCOVERY network. Pressure from elements of the US Congress on the cable industry prevented the already advertized and scheduled showing...they went so far as to try and destroy all copies of it.

The Franklin Case is at the center of it but it contains elements of all of the psychopathology that we see in America today...from the cover-up by the Catholic Church at Boy''s Town, the involvement of the Republican heirarchy in pederasty, torture and other perversion and the subversion of the criminal justice system by the county attorneys, law enforcement and, of course, the FBI.

"Let Justice be done, though the Heavens fall," was the crie de couer of Attorney Garrison as he tried in vain to bring the conspirators who murdered JFK to justice. Senator de Camp of Nebraska has fought the good fight to excise the growth from Omaha and bring justice for those abused by wealthy and powerful psychopaths, don''t let his struggle be in vain. Stop feeding the growth of mainstream fascism.

So Bush wants to do something about Iran. Lets see, Iran says the holocaust never happened, Israel will be wiped off the map, they are supporting just about anyone in Iraq fighting us, they want control of Iraq, they are trying to go nuclear and are buying all kinds of missiles and weapons. They are supporting terrorism with abandon. Negotiation to Iran is nothing more than a delaying tactic. So what do you liberals think we should do? Ignore Iran and get out of Iraq right now? Terrorists all over are watching as we do nothing about this which gives them a feeling of invincibility. I do agree that if anything is done about Iran it must not be just the USA. We are not in this alone and it is not our job to protect the world. We do; however, need to protect ourselves against factions that have publicly declared war on us. Sometimes the best defense is a good offense.

Bush is gearing up for an attack against Iran, that''s clear. The Special Forces have been conducting ops inside Iran for months, so the war has already begun. Yet he wonders why they''re supplying insurgents in Iraq and why they want nukes of their own.

I ptreviously suppoerted strikes against Iran and I was wrong. I thought we could do it with non-nuke air power and contain the military response to the Iran-Iraq theater, but now that I''ve read more of the military analysts on this I realize that it''s a horrible mistake, especially if it goes nuclear.

The nuclear cloud od radiation that will be produced will spread to China and southeast Asia and China and Russia are not going to sit by without responding with nukes of their own.

Iraq was just the beginning of Dr. Strangelove''s evil insane dream. He''s going to start a nuclear war and only the military itself can save us now from these madmen.

Bush IS going to launch air strikes against Iran. The scary part is that even he knows that conventional air strikes are not enough to win a "war" against Iran because they have millions in uniform who will defend their homeland and we are stretched so thin that a land invasion under most circumstances is out of the question. The only way to "win" a war with Iran will be to use massive numbers of battle field size, so-called "tactical", nuclear weapons. Of course giving them that fancy name doesn''t change the truth that they are thousands of times larger then the Hiroshima bomb or the truth that millions of human beings will die. Make no mistake, in the next year or so Bush will kill more human beings (and do it in our name) then any other world leader in human history. He really is that insane.

He is going to commit murder on such a massive scale that it has never even been conceived of before in the history of humanity....and there is nothing we can do to stop this insane man. It is going to happen because there are still too many Americans who have bought into his mental illness and still support him.
