Idaho Republican Announces Departure Effective Sept. 30, After Calls From Within Party To Quit Over Arrest
- Lars008,
I didn''t say that Clinton was impeached for lying th Congress and I didn''t say he was held in contempt either(but he could''ve been).

- It''''s recisely because we have 3 equal branches of government that the executive branch can be held in contempt for lying to Congress. If we had trhe kind of Imperial Presidency that you would like for Bush than we would''''ve had it for Clinton as well.

- I''d have a lot more respect for him if he''d just come out of the closet as a ga*y man. I mean it''s the rank hypocrisy about him that''s what''s wrong, not his sexual orientation. If he did that then I''d see no reason at all for him to have to step down as a Senator. I have no problem at all with ga*y Senators, just lying hypocritical ones.

- Its good to see Romney has the backing of ''Wide Stance'' Craig as well as Jeb Bush, the former can deliver the mainstream Republican bathroom pervert vote, the later can help steal elections if called upon, disenfranchising black voters and the like.
Jeb Bush, if needed can also have all of the files from CIA-connected flight schools regarding Mohammed Atta and other patsy terrorist attendees loaded on a C-5A and flown to Washington to be disappeared...that''s just the kind of narco-businessman Jeb is... - Reply to this comment
Earlier this year, Idaho Sen. Larry Craig explained why he favors Mitt Romney. "First and foremost," Craig said, "he has very strong family values."
Craig was one of the few Republicans who refuse to attend a Clinton state of the union speach saying Clinton was a, "nasty, bad, naughty boy."
Looks like Craig is just one in a long list of Republican hypocrites.- Reply to this comment
- S-Temper, I agree with you about both Clinton''s: I''m not giving him an out.
There are both republicans and democrats who clearly handle situations differently for partison reasons. I''ve spoken up when I think democrats are playing it 2 ways but I do think that the Clinton and Craig situation are different.
A better example of democratic hypocracy which has been raised by others on here which i do agree with is the way that the Garry Studds situation was mishandled. I personally have zero tolerance for rape or sexual assault and that certainly wasn''t a proud moment for democrats.
I see your point too. - Reply to this comment

- The Republican Party, the party of flag waving bible thumpers claiming the moral high ground. Let''s see their record so far.
Mark Foley-Resigned for seducing teenage congressional Pages.
George Bush- Male cheerleader with connections with Jeff Gannon male prostitute
Reverend Haggart- George Bush''s "spiritual" advisor caught soliciting male prostitutes and crystal Methyl.
Republican Larry Craig- Soliciting BJs from people in public restrooms.
Jeff Gannon- White House press room plant and professional male prostitute who''s visited the White House on over 100 different occasions for god knows what.
These are the same folks wanting to ban gay marriage. What a bunch of hypocritical freaks! You''ve got to wonder about the morons still supporting these guys.
They need to start a town called Idiotsville in Iraq and send Bush, his cronies and diehard moron followers there so they can fulfill their anti-gay, pro-war vision. - Reply to this comment
- No, Presidents aren''''t above the law and I for one think that Clinton should''''ve faced contempt of Congress charges as Bush should now.

hahahahaha
there are 3 equal branches of government nancy... not just an all powerful congress... lol
everybody is in contempt of congress... they have the poll numbers lower than bush...
hahahahaha
thankfully congress does not run the country...
nothing good comes from running something by committee...
hahahahaha
thankfully our founding fathers set up 3 equal but separate branches of government...
it does make for good theater though... lol - Reply to this comment
- Its rather ironic that lars008 would find it so amusing that Craig was ''outed'', particularly after the exposure that he received by another poster...and then, after all of the recent exposures of Republican ***-capades with boys to accuse Craig of being some kind of closet Democrat.
The government and media dropped the Baryard Frank matter in a hurry after the Mass. Democrat threatened to bring down the government by naming names of very powerful figures when it was found that male prostitutes were being run out of his condominium. We are just now beginning to see what he meant. - Reply to this comment
- S_Temper,
It''s not democrats calling for his resignation and politiciizing the matter. It''s republicans throwing him under the bus while protecting Vitter and Foley.
If you want to remove the politics from this, take it up with the republicans. - Reply to this comment
- lars008,
No, Presidents aren''t above the law and I for one think that Clinton should''ve faced contempt of Congress charges as Bush should now. I''d like to see the litigation take place when they leave office, that would take some of the politics out of it and not hamstring the country dealing with more pressing matters than whether or not the President cheated on his wife. The fact is that Bill Clinton wasn''t the first President to be accused of cheating on his wife but the Repubican Congress was the first to go to such an extraordinary extent to prove it.
Bush, Sr. was alleged to have his mistress in a no show job on the State Dept. payroll. There were rumors about Ike and we all know about Marilyn and the Kennedys. I guess that''s the real issue, we examine the democrats till the cows come home and generally push the republican scandals under the rug like is being done now.
When is Foley going to be prosecuted for sesxually harassing pages? Why isn''t Vitter being asked to resign? That''s easy, Louisiana has a democratic governor and Idaho has a republican Governor.
democrats aren''t going to politicise and drag this out, but we have a right to point out the utter hypocracy. - Reply to this comment
- All you left and right wingers who want to throw the poo, better wake up and look at the real issues that are staring us in the face. This bathroom visit is about as far down on the list as it goes. The press sure knows how to rile you all up, and get you to direct your attention towards things that are about as important as a whirlwind in the desert, while the government is taking away your rights and stealing your money. Moreover, don''t tell me it the left wing, or the right wing that is doing the flapping, its the bird in the middle that is doing it, and both wings are working together. Read some history, Bill Clinton, and George Bush were both backed by the same bankers, just like Hillary, and Romney are, and so many of the others. Ask yourselves some questions like why are the big banks financing both sides of the war. Why are people in Turkey and Pakistan ending up with weapons directed toward Iraqis? You better wake-up, your not leftist, and rightist, your Americans, and the leaders of both parties are just as willing to sell our country down the drain, for a little profit.

- Any of you who can''t see a rat in the woodpile here better wake up. If you don''t smell the poo, then you don''t know a whole lot about politics. What a terrible way to bring a man down, his only mistake was pleading guilty to it.
I don''t condone such real activity, but something just don''t fit together here. I haven''t seen through the whole picture yet, but something smells to high heaven about it. I believe that it was a set-up, be it from the left or the right to get Senator Craig out of office. Hell, I have been around the world, and never heard of such horseradish. I wouldn''t have known such signs even existed, had I not seen the demonstrations on Fox and CNN. How many of you would have?
If he did in fact do what was said, and it was for the intent that has been stated then yes, I believe he should resign, but something just don''t seem right. Call me a conspiracy nut if you want, but if was such an important story, why didn''t it come out in June when it happened, why wait till now to make it all known and public? Just whose toes was Senator Craig stepping on, or who was attempting to blackmail him? There is more to this story than meets the eye. Whether we will ever know or not remains to be seen, but maybe some good reporter will get to the bottom of it.

In a bone-chilling chapter of her new book "The Final Days," late heroine-author Barbara Olson warned that ex-president Bill Clinton''s pardons of terrorists who had repeatedly bombed buildings in New York City "send a signal" that the U.S. isn''t serious about fighting terrorism.

Bill Clinton pardons controversy
FALN Pardons of 1999
On August 11 1999, Clinton commuted the sentences of 16 members of FALN, a violent Puerto Rican nationalist group that set off 120 bombs in the United States usually in New York City and Chicago, convicted for conspiracies to commit robbery, bomb-making, and sedition, as well as for firearms and explosives violations.

- S-Temper,
Having the President impeached is far more disruptive to the business of the country than having a rather inconsequential Senator resign. After all, what has Craig ever done besides vote against protection from hate crimes for folks like Matthew Shepherd while trolling bathrooms himself.
That''s why I oppose impeachment for Bush, even though he deserves it. It didn''t give republicans a moment of pause when Clinton was President to drag the country through the mud over something which while slimey was not related to any inportant national issue.
The same people who diverted the President''s attention for 4 to 6 years from matters like dealing with terror to responding to witch hunt after witch hunt now blame him for not doing enough to catch Bin Laden. These are the same people who say nothing about Bush saying he doesn''t care about Bin Laden after sEPT. 11.

- I have one more question: what the hell do gay guys do once they successfully make contact with with each other in neighboring stalls??? Does one guy crawl under to visit his new buddy? If so, how do they determine which guy crawls under? When I first heard about this I didn''''t give it much thought, but all these news articles made me wonder about the logistics. This whole scenario is very confusing.

Why? Are you planning on joining the Toe Tappers Association? ROFLMAO It''s simple and you know it. You just can''t accept the fact that a sleazy peeper, a preditor, sold you his snake oil, the hatred and bigotry, toward other American''s, all the while BEING much worse than those he was dragging through the mud. This isn''t NEW for the Religious Reich, it''s happened how many times in our past. So you WERE stupid... so YOU followed the Folleys, Rev. Ted''s and Senator Wide Stance, you aren''t the first one. The real question now is will you just ignore the FACTS and TRUTH about them, that they TELL you what you want to hear and feed you fear for no other reason than their POWER. The choice is YOURS. You can accept the fact you were played for a fool and start talking about the REAL issues confronting the Country or pretend it''s the fault of the "liberals" in the nation. Sieg Heil and Amen. - Reply to this comment
- This story really shows the hypocrisy of liberals and the leftist media in the US. Craig is expected to resign after he gets caught looking for gay love in a public bathroom, while B. J. Clinton was caught having hetero-*** in the Oval Office with a 22 year-old intern, lied under oath about it, and kept his job. Sometimes I feel like we''''re stuck in the Twilight Zone. Democrats can''''t live without their double standards.
