I think most of us do not like being lied to or fooled that this is all about terror as you seem to think.

The Real Reason We''''re In Iraq:
An influential group of conservatives convinced President George W. Bush that it was in America''''s best interests to conquer Iraq as a first step toward dominating the oil-producing nations in the Middle East. There was no "exit plan" because we never intended to exit. The plan was, and is, to build military bases in Iraq and stay there forever. Our leaders also see Iraq as a place to make money. So Bush & Co. have set up their friends to cash in on the rebuilding of Iraq.

OMG lol another conspiracy theorist. Don''t forget this one also.. Bush actually authorized the terrorist strike on us 9-11. 1000''s of Jewish people didn''t show up for work that day at the WTC because they were warned as agreed between us and Israel. So Bush and the prime minister of Israel conspired to allow these attacks to give us an excuse to come into Afghanistan and also invade Iraq later. Wow sounds like a bad *** Michael Moore movie HUH?

That little theory was floated all over the net back in late 2001 and 2002. Lets not forget the US missile hitting the pentagon also.

OH COME ON FOLKS. Go ahead and hate on Bush, but please come up with more plausible material LOL!!!

Hahaha Good point tibu987 , but Obama bashing is a God given right. He''s a card carrying socialist, his appeal is mainly to the same 33% that would vote democratic even if HITLER were running. The 33% I refer to is the class of people who has been brainwashed to believe that the government owes them a living (health care or what ever). And they''ve been taught that if somebody makes good money, they are a tightwad who''s stealing their american dream.

The swing vote (the other 15-20 %) are your typical media & rock star following minions. They hate who ever pop culture and their buddies tell them to hate at their daily visit to the club or after watching some heart wrenching TV show on how Katrina victims or poor people are so called getting shafted by rich white men wearing red ties while driving environment killing SUV''s. Think I am blowing this out of proportion? Not really there are TARDS who actually think this *** LOL.

So, unfortunately one of these 2 monsters (Hillary or Obama) will win in 2008. I suspect after a few terrorist bombings on our own soil again and broken promises, it shall be a short lived presidency. Then logic shall prevail (how ever short lived some peoples logic exists) and we will be back to a GOP president (I hope).

Let me ask this question. Does Hillary have enough experience to be president?
Hillary keeps talking about how much experience she has.
I fail to see how her position as the First Lady during the Clinton years in the White House translates into the great political experience she would like to get people to believe.
I doubt that she sat in on Cabinet meetings, meetings with the military leaders, international leaders, debriefings by the FBI, the CIA, the SEC, and many other important issues.
What she may have learned is the correct way to brew tea and to serve it graciously with her little pinkie in the air.
Let''''s not be swayed by what Hillary and her backers would have you believe about her experience.
What it amounted to was a social experience and a brief term as a New York Senator from a relatively unimportant area.
Being Bubba''s wife does not entitle Hillary to bash Obama or anyone else for the lack of experience.

Welcome to the REAL world of islamic radicalism that must but fought on THEIR turf. Some of them may call themselves moderate muslims but they support the radicals when the cameras are off. They want to blow you off the face of the planet unless you adhere to their version of 7th century islam.

So is this what the 10 million or so Muslims who live the U.S. think as well? Are all of them plotting against us, too? Or turning a blind eye to others who might be doing it? How about the ones in Kuwait? The ones involved in the Bosnian War that were getting wiped out until we went in there as part of a UN peacekeeping force?

Making generalities like what you just did is a dangerous thing to do.

Keep seeing "war monger" being used in these posts. Oh come on folks war is a FACT of human existance. So *** what if there were no *** WMDs in Iraq. Saddam was a mini hitler, the world is better off without him. This wasnt the first war and it wont be the last. The dreaded Viet Nam was was started & escalated by democrats and now we have a republican doing it. The peace age is over folks (hippies), the beatles & summer of love are distant memories.

I am no big fan of Bush, but he''s definitly the lesser of two evils. Would rather have a terrible public speaker as president than a socialist like Hillary or Obama who will (no matter what they say now), ease up on the war on terror and put the homeland at risk because thats what the Majority of their party wants.

I would love to see just one President whether it be male or female stop lieing and do some of things they promise in office. Hillary is not gonna do nothing better and Bush has screwd our country so bad with his lies and not to mention the whitehouse and all of them are a joke, they don''t do anything that they tell you in their campaigns just lies! And who to point the blame when they get caught in their lies! Democrats & Republicans have let the our country down! Maybe we need to try and independent for Pres. this time.

tuckerndfw: I have the feeling that if there''s a 3rd party and you don''t agree with its platform, you would say the same thing as you do now. You''re looking for the perfect candidate, and they just don''t come around very often.

Well, tuckerndfw, I wouldn''t take commentary in blogs as a true indication of how all people think. This is the first time I''ve ever seen intelligent discussion in a blog, at least at CBS News. As for people you talk to in real life, I can''t answer to that.

People have the opportunity to be more informed these days. Whether they take that opportunity or not, that''s another issue. As for more involved, you''re right. But my issue with that is whether people CAN be more involved these days, as most people''s most important issues are two feet in front of them. Something happening 14 months from now is not very high on the priority list. My concerns right now are my mounting bills and lack of health insurance, not who will take us through the next four years. I don''t have the luxury to think in terms of the "big picture" right now. And I don''t even have a spouse or kids to worry about. Think of what the average parent who''s not in a high-income family is thinking right now. It''s not about Republicans and Democrats, I can just about guarantee that.

Choosing the best person is done in the primaries. When that''s over the adult thing to do is go with the decision. Same thing as a meeting at work. You discuss issues, voice opinions, and go with the final decision, even if you may not totally agree with it. That''s the only way anything can get done.

But of course we agree to disagree.

The way this campaign (which has started WAAAAYYY too early, BTW) is going, it''ll probably be the same thing that happened to me in 2000: I went into the voting booth still not knowing whom to vote for.

I would have to disagree with Tuckerndfw about people not caring about information today, or at least as he describes it. There are two major differences today: 1) We get information from all sides and we do not know what information to trust. A little Fox News/CNN watching will prove that. 2) This is not the same society of the 60s and 70s. Too many people have too many things to worry about these days that are right in front of them, such as employment, health insurance, and their kids'' educations. That''s not to say there wasn''t concern about these back in the 60s and 70s, but how many two-income families were there back then compared to today? (We were one of the first out of necessity, not choice, back in the 60s) It''s not that people don''t care, but more about not having the time to care enough.

I take back my "naive" remark. How about "wishful thinking"? The reality is that there won''t a viable 3rd-party for the foreseeable future. And yes, I''m well aware of the power of military-industrial complex. But you won''t change anything by checking out of the system altogether. You work with what you have.

I usually vote independent, which I will probably do in 2008 unless Hillary is nominated.
Posted by tuckerndfw at 11:53 AM : Aug 31, 2007

I''m afraid a strong 3rd party won''t be for our time.
I could vote for a real independant (not Liebermann style). I disagreed with incognito calling you "naive". I think "cynical" is the right word. And I can understand. But I''ll never vote Giuliani.
