Idaho Republican Insists He Did No Wrong, And, Is Not Gay; Ethics Panel Asked To Investigate
- Was Sen. Craig speaking in code again yesterday when he opened his very strange press conference by saying "Thank you for coming out"? . . .

He should have said, "Thank you for showing up on this really hot day. It''s so hot I hope you guys don''t mind if I unbutton my shirt while tapping to the tune of "Lola" before we get started." - Reply to this comment

What BS! Moved away from their extreme right values! Where and who?
But what else can they say? The truth, which is we appeal to a small but loud minority who are more likely to vote than other demographic groups.
That is no longer true. Through a combination of the ever worsening conditions in Iraq, the intelligent use of the internet, name reconition and fresh faces in the democratic party, voters are paying attention in numbers unheard of. AND most of those voters are not members of the religous right either.
The signs are everywhere. I say it again. Look to see 2008 repeat 2006 only bigger. - Reply to this comment
- Precisely. So whadda got to offer? Your party is a culture of death, darwinism, and despair. My don''''t we have choices.

LMAO, no wonder you''re repeating FOX talking points, you can''t even think for yourself.
lol, lets see, BUSH is a republican president who''s causing death, and despair within our country and to other countries too. - Reply to this comment

The ability to actually govern? A corruption level far below that of the GOP? Ideas and values that are actually more in line with average Americans then the ultra-right wing relgious loonies the Republicans are forced to pander too?
I''ll think of more, but that - for many people - should be enough to keep in the GOP numbers in congress where they are: in the MINORITY. - Reply to this comment
- Bascially, Craig is trying a similar tactic as Vitter did: Hold an angry press conference, take no questions, blame others for your problems, take as little responsibility as possible, then hope the whole thing blows over.
The GOP knows only how to attack, attack, attack. In these two instances both men should have been humble, contrite and apologetic because they did wrong. But in politics those things are seen as weakness, so they lauch a blisetering attack to cover up what they did. - Reply to this comment
- Dems never claimed moral superiority, promised to outlaw abortion, paraded "family values" ,,,

I have not read the police report, but I said something more must have happened. It didn''t make sense to plead guilty to anything if all that happened was a little foot tapping. - Reply to this comment

It seems he knows all the proper bathroom signals for identifying himself as gay. I find it hard to believe that he didn''t know what "coming out" means! - Reply to this comment
- I dunno Clestes... the religious right is saying the 2006 results were because the Repubs moved away from their extreme right wing nut job constituents. Hannity, Limbaugh and Coulter are all saying 2008 will be a return to the traditional conservative republican values (in their minds) of family values, anti-gay, anti-abortion, flag-waving apple pie baking, etc...
They don''t care how many soldiers die, as long as their ratings stay high by pandering to bigotry and ignorance. - Reply to this comment
- Oh come on, marcodele.
That formula proved a failure last year. The conditions ar even worse now than then and won''t be any better next year. In fact, bound to be worse with Bush still holding onto the "Stay the course" routine. That means, more dead US solders, more billions spent, more unhappy people who will not vote to continue the unhappiness.
In fact, I think the country is even now moving away from the conservative religous right and towards more moderate thinking. The environmental movement is gaining momentum, so is the anti-war. The feeling that the country is on the wrong road is widespread.
Look to see more of what happened in 2006 to happen in 2008. - Reply to this comment
- Gee Mudrose... I''m not sure who you''re talking about in the Dem party guilty of indecent exposure. Congressman Foley? No wait, that was propositioning male pages. Sen. David Vitter? No wait, that was paying hookers.
The Dems never claimed moral superiority, promised to outlaw abortion, paraded "family values" like it was something only their party could possibly endorse, and pandered to the right wing religious nutjobs to get elected - then did the nasty whereever they wanted.
You have your parties mixed up. But then again, you''re Mudrose. We wouldn''t expect a logical statement from you. - Reply to this comment
- Why plead guilty here when it would have been so easy to say "You are mistaken, I was tapping out a song in my head."

If you read the police report or statements from the arresting officer Mr. Craig did substantially more then just tap his foot. He made he intentions clear with other signals including waving his hand under the stall and touching his foot to the officer''s foot while they were in seperate stalls (something Craig attributes to having a ''wide stance.'') - Reply to this comment
- Well, depends if he has a lot of Democrats in the state. They most certainly will re-elect him. After all they''''re the party of forgiveness - nobody gets canned in their party for indecent exposure now do they? Posted by mudrose at 09:55 AM : Aug 29, 2007
lol. it''s the righties who seem to forget all this stuff. All a gay republican has to do is go to a christian rehab and re-proclaim that he''s found (republican) "GOD" once again and the little church followers will re-elect him.
Why didn''t all these gay government righties come together and just do each other. I mean, at least they would cover each other''s @sses so their secret doesn''t leak out. - Reply to this comment
- Yet again, another hypocritical "family values" republican.
What a sorry-*ss individual. - Reply to this comment

- Craig will be fine and will be re-elected by a huge margin. He''''ll use the neocon formula: Praise God, praise Jesus, declare gaays evil, point to Bill Clinton''''s bj, and promise to outlaw abortion and lower taxes.
Works everytime.

- ***WARNING***
check your republican husband when he gets home, there may be a defect, he can be "GAY!!" - Reply to this comment
- All this denying he is gay is really beside the point. Having a homosexual encounter does not make one "gay". Being "gay" is a chosen lifestyle.
What I find funny, is what he is NOT denying. That the encounter ever took place. Not once have I heard him say, never happened. He has professed undying love for family, friends and state, but is silent on whether he did the deed or not.
In fact, he must have. Why else plead guilty to disorderly conduct and lewd behavior. If innocent, he could have claimed that he always taps his feet while taking a dump! In fact, he could have claimed that whether guilty or not.
Something more must have happened than we are being told because none of this makes any sense. Why plead guilty here when it would have been so easy to say "You are mistaken, I was tapping out a song in my head."
At any rate, this pervert is history and good riddence too! - Reply to this comment
