I think the real story here is why the news media, who''s job is to ''inform the public'' could totally miss the public record of the arrest, trial, AND guilty plea until WAY after the fact. Actually, it''s both. Although I find it amusing you consider the ability to govern not ''very impressive.'' But that certainly explain''s what appeal the GOP has for you.

The GOP got smoked last November. I don''t see any reason why next year will be any different. It makes me glad to think that loonies on the far right will continue to be marginalized, and soon many of you will just be considered harmless cranks.

the religious right is saying the 2006 results were because the Repubs moved away from their extreme right wing nut job constituents. Hannity, Limbaugh and Coulter are all saying 2008 will be a return to the traditional conservative republican values (in their minds) of family values, anti-gay, anti-abortion, flag-waving apple pie baking, etc.

They are doing exactly what the Dems did in 2004 when they elected Kerry not as the best candidate but as having the best chance of winning the election.
