Ex-Mass. Governor Gets 31% Of Votes, Ex-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee Comes In 2nd
- On August 20-21, President Bush will join Mexican President
Calderon and Canadian Prime Minister Harper for the second
Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) summit.
The SPP is what many believe to be the beginnings of the
infrastructure for the North American Union. The SPP's
stated goal is to:
"...Consolidate our action into a North American
framework to confront security and economic challenges,
and promote the full potential of our people, addressing
disparities and increasing opportunities for all."
This tri-lateral agreement already has resulted in regulatory
changes and open borders initiatives that clearly undermine
our sovereignty. The SPP is the one touting the "trusted
travelers" program to encourage migration of "citizens of
North America."
+ Petition opposing a North American Union
Today, Grassfire is launching a national petition formally
opposing these and other efforts to create a North American
"framework" and undermine our nation's sovereignty.

- With the advent of the internet (thanks Al) and modern instant communication technologies, "the people" are SLOWLY but steadily becoming more enlightened as to how governments are skrewing the people over.

Couldn't agree more. The Internet is one of the best things to ever happen to democracy. While there certainly is a lot of political garbage online, there's also enough real people sites to offset it. I hope that we can keep the Internet as wild and uncensored as it was and not let the government get too much control over it. Keeping it free and open is what makes it what it is and must not let either party or any government get too much control over the flow of ideas and information on it. - Reply to this comment
- He certainly does have a lot of family. I am sure they all voted for him so he would win.
Seriously, I think Romney is going to be the candidate. He seems decent. Of course no one is innocent in politics, but at least he has morals and values. Both of which are lacking in Clinton-both of them him and her!
He does seem to be the best candidate of all. I wonder how he feels about the prophesy 2012? We do have a job in the mid-east to do, whether we want to or not. - Reply to this comment
- After reading the post again, my mistake, I'd assumed the callers were to talk to Romney...either way, they're screened.

Not to defend Romney, but I don't trust any television or radio media that puts on callers to talk to guest politicians...calls that are pre-screened before being put through. Negative media sells. - Reply to this comment
- When elected governor in 2002 he assumed a monstrous 3 billion dollar deficit and put the state od Massachusetts back in the black without raising taxes.

On CSPAN recently where dial up callers got to express their views on Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's term as Gov. on 3 calling lines, Republican, Democrat and Independent, not one Massachusetts caller on either Party line had anything positive to say about Mitt Romney. One caller complained that people with Masters Degrees in Massachusetts were working in Kitchens and leaving the state for work because Gov. Mitt Romney's Policys made it so no jobs were available. Some described Mitt Romney as a Corporate Raider who earned his enormous wealth by gutting companies, chopping up the pieces and selling its parts at the expense of families and workers. I was curious so I listened to the entire program waiting to hear a Massachusetts Voter of any Party sat something nice about Mr. Romney and nothing! The Massachusetts Voter should know Mitt! - Reply to this comment
- No matter how many times perception5 repeats the same drivel about how "great" Romney is, the truth is that he is a member of a fringe religion that intends to take over the US government and to rule the world. His "accomplishments" might pacify some of you, but they don't change the fact that no religious fanatic bent of world domination is fit to be president of the United States.
BTW, no kudos to Romney for "veto[ing] a bill which would have funded human cloning and the destruction of human embryos." All Republicans talk about the "sanctity of life" when opposing stem cell research, but they fully support the destruction of millions of embryos by fertility clinics and deny the chance for those embryos to be used to save the life of millions of suffering Americans with Parkinson's, diabetes, etc. Total hypocrisy!
(And I don't want to hear any cr*p about how Romney would act independently from his church. Once you participate in all the secret LDS rituals, they keep close tabs on you. So he will be doing their bidding.) - Reply to this comment
- How does this get to be news? Most colleges and universities have more students that voted in this made for extremist poll...

- Mitt is the most viable conservative in the Presidential race and the best qualified to bring new leadership with his vision for America's future. As Michael Reagan has reminded everyone, his beloved father, The Gipper; when Governor of California signed a major pro-abortion piece of legislation before he became our party's greatest conservative and pro-life President. So good people do evolve in their positions on social issues. Gov. Romney has an impressive resume to showcase. When elected governor in 2002 he assumed a monstrous 3 billion dollar deficit and put the state od Massachusetts back in the black without raising taxes. His success in public office mirrors his record in the private sector at Bain Capitol where he reorganized and made household names of companies such as Domino's Pizza and Staples. He also bailed out the U.S. Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002, and turned a profit there for 100 million dollars. I have nicknamed Mitt, "the Rominator", for obvious reasons. Candidate Romney graduated valedictorian in undergrad; then pursued a double degree at Harvard (M.B.A. and law) graduating in the top 5% of his class while doing so. Gov. Romney's record not only reflects his fiscal expertise; but he's also pro-life. As governor, Romney vetoed a bill which would have funded human cloning and the destruction of human embryos.
Our liberal wolfpack press is trying to create a negative sterotype of Mitt but his record is out there and its excellent - Reply to this comment
- There is no easy fix to America's FASCISM.
Except open warfare. The American/Israeli ELITE have to go. BUT they'll just start another Great Depression using THEIR (NOT)Federal Reserve to put Joe American on the Streets again. When you can't eat.. you don't REVOLT.
Our Corporate "Media" has to go.
The Straw Pole was FIXED. Ron Paul's votes were tampered with.
FREE AMERICA FROM THIS FASCIST REGIME!!! - Reply to this comment
- PLEASE People. DEMAND an unriggable voting system when the time comes for the '08 Elections.

You are absolutely right, after all is said and done, if some slick people can Hack the results, Americans have only themselves to blame. It's well known the potential for fraud and manipulating Voting machines exist so the problem should have been addressed comprehensively after the Florida debacle and perceived theft. An additional perception and maybe even a reality is that the fabled "invisible hand" can choose whoever it wants and not the American Voter. Any doubt about who wins American Elections needs to be put to rest and the capability and technology exist to put doubt to rest. Only those who fear they can't win fair and square wants things to stay like they are now! - Reply to this comment

- ConDumism-- I think you are being overly optimistic about the effect of what amounts to 'zoning ordinances' for lobbyists.
By returning the federal government to its original limits--the lobbyists will have to go somewhere else to get their rice bowls filled.
14th Street was the big show place for hookers...if I didn't see any hookers on the street in Washington, I wouldn't for a minute think that they had all left the city or that there were no longer any 'johns' in DC... the problem is that the hookers in Congress still have favors worth trillions that they can and do grant to Big Business and the 'johns' would just as soon hook up with them on the golf course, on the pleasure boat, in the Carib' than in the halls of Congress where they are seen.
Barack's cosmetic solution is not going to solve the problem and more than 'I married the mob' McCain's campaign finance reform is going to keep Keating Fivers like him out of office. - Reply to this comment

While I love the spirit of that statement, I don't think that would solve it. Backdoor deals would continue, and those special interests would still have domain over our politicians, it would just be more "behind the scenes."
Truth is, we're bound to living through it, until such time as a majority of people in this world and nation, understand where this control is coming from and takes action against it.
It's my "personal" belief that this will happen in 2012-2013...but that's just me. - Reply to this comment

It will take time, but eventually there will be a mass understanding and action will be taken...I just wish it'd be sooner than later. It's not a matter of democrat/republican, it's a matter of corporate and banking influence. Neither party is, by it's very nature, immune.

----------
And the Democrats are going to do something about this? I invite you to read an article on what big government and big business are doing to dumb down children in New Orleans:
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article18158.htm
John Taylor Gatto's THE UNDERGROUND HISTORY OF AMERICAN EDUCATION, is an excellent history that tells the story of this dumbing down and his own personal fight against state tyranny in education as a New York State and City Teacher of the Year.
THE DELIBERATE DUMBING DOWN OF AMERICA, by a Reagan Education Department official, Charlotte Iserbyt, is downloadable free at:
http://www.deliberatedumbingdown.com/index.html
This is a bipartisan war against the development of intellect and it is fought not only in the classroom, but in the doctor's office where children are exposed to neurotoxins in vaccines, in the HFCS in their candy that helps make them fat and stupid, the excitotxins--like MSG and aspartame--in their foods....its fought in the field of entertainment where the anti-intellectualism of TV retards development and warps behavior.
Getting the federal government out of education will go along way towards allowing the states and localities to repair the damage that federal involvement has caused, getting rid of the insidious influence of the Carnegie and Ford foundations will help as well. - Reply to this comment
- I'd rather not have spoiled little rich kids as shipmates. In the military, a sailor, marine, airman, soldier, have to be able to trust their fellows with their life. I'd rather have a guy/gal with me that believes in America and is not serving a 4 year sentence to prove they support the broke kids in the military, just for a check mark on a political resume.
Not on my ship, not in my Navy!

Amen! As much as I know Bush was a cowardly pile of Sh*it for hiding out in the Texas ANG in order to avoid Vietnam, in a way it's still better then having to serve with that gutless coward in the Air Force! - Reply to this comment
- I'm fairly sure he's referring to you and I Prinz. When in fact if he'd seen or known most of what you and I have posted over the past while on this board, he'd see that we disagree on a LOT of things, we just happen to both like Ron Paul. Ignorant assumptions.
