Hoping For Endorsement, Democrat Front-Runners Withstand Barbs On Terrorism, Corporate Influence
- "The question is, did you walk when it cost?" he said. "Did you walk when you were from a state that is not a labor state? Did you walk when the corporations in your state were opposed to you? That's the measure of whether we'll be with you when it's tough, not when you're running for president in the last two years, marching on 20 or 30 or 50 picket lines."

- pepperp1,
The Musharif government reportedly has a ceasefire agreement with the Pashtun tribes in North Waziristan which effectively provides the Taliban and Al Quaeda along with Uzbek rebels a safe haven complete with training camps to send graduates to the U.S. and europe on missions of destruction as well as providing a staging ground for attacks on U.S. and Afghan troops as well as Afghan civilians across the border. The government denies that they have granted a ceasefire but doesn't deny that their patrols in the area are sporadic at best.
I think it's somewhat of a stretch to call this territory part of a sovereign nation when the government of Pakastan is viewed as much as an outsider as we are and has never exercised control over the region.
I know I'm in the minority in my view but I'm quite confident that time will show that the ones who are really stupid are those who are willing to sit back and give AQ safe haven to attack us again. - Reply to this comment

Yeah, most people that see black and white are usually schizophrenic. PPD woman always assume that someone else is delusional - it's happened to me five times ya know - and the Mrs. kept misplacing the kids on top of it. Hate when people jar the memory like that. It was a terrible game of hide and seek. Never knew which relative had which kid. - Reply to this comment
- Not sure I am following Obamas logic that he should not be criticized for a really dumb strategy like attacking and sovereign country unilaterally, because the critical person made a previous mistake. Chris Dodds response and explanation of why that would be foolish was very pragmatic and sound. Obama could have said Chris your right I regret my cowboy sound bite. Seems like a very childlike chin stuck out and all. I am hoping it is not his strategy to channel George Bush but he does he did do better and not jump for the quip and grin which was reassuring.

and this means what? That what Hilary is saying now are lies? I'm sorry---but I believe Hilary will keep us in Iraq and all the Democrats who were against this "illegal war" will be defending it once their 'guy' or 'girl' is in the oval office.
Hypocrites all.
The war IS illegal and evil and wrong. Hilary rides the edge of a razor blade and wants to assure both sides that the that blade "feels good". Nobody can stay on such an edge forever. - Reply to this comment
- "The president has no duty or authority to "protect the American people," that is the Lone Ranger's job. Along with his trusty friend, Tonto."
Well then that begs the question: Whose Tonto? And don't tell me its Cheney, cuz he's 50 years younger. :)
"They all suck. Why can't we get representation that the majority of Americans can vote for (minus the corporate elite) knowing they're going to stand behind AMERICANS. I want someone in office who will drop NAFTA and the WTO, increase tariffs back to '80's levels, make lobbying a criminal offense, deport illegals, and ARREST the current ADMINISTRATION, especially Bush/Cheney/Rice/Rove/Rumsfeld and their string pullers."

It would be even funnier if Bozo and his supporters did not actually believe he is.
The president of the US cannot arrest or detain anyone.

- All of these candidates--save Ron Paul-- want to keep you focused on the 'carrot and stick' Regime in Washington instead of upon your own state and community. They want you begging on bended knee before Washington Banker Regime.
When your taxes go to Washington, they are flushed down the Halliburton toilet, tossed into the bureaucratic maw, burned in the fires of war and 'dissappeared' into the rendition flights and hidden prisons of the police state. It is time to reclaim the Constitutional Republic that our forefathers bequeathed us.
If you wanted to be governed by giant, faceless institutions, why did you fight a Cold War with the Soviet? You could have had the kind of nation that these creatures support 60 years ago!--And, don't imagine that the Republicans, with their limited government rhetoric, are any different than the Democrats--they are worse! Reagan was simply better at selling the slaves their Big Government chains than any Democrat.
Ron Paul is not in the mainstream, and the mainstream is trying to drown him as a result. The solutions are not to be found in mainstream politics--it is from the mainstream that the problems arise. - Reply to this comment
