... "relaxed" ...

Since when have you seen someone gain power then "relax" it?

Doesn't someone who gains power find every excuse to exercise it, in order to gain even more power?

What would you say if Bush declared that he would not relinquish the presidency in 2008, because he reasons that he and he alone is vital for national security?

And why not? According to him he is the only one able to do the job

Relax indeed ...

There's a concept that liberals and folks in our corrupt liberal MSM wolfpack press need to start "warming up" to and that is during "war" Security Trumps Liberty. That's how its been for every war this nation has been in.

When this war is over, like all the other wars, these security measures being put in place will be "relaxed".

So to all the liberal Bush haters out there this today..........RELAX........and have a nice day.

It's easy to blame those in Congress on this one but if it were you in their shoes I doubt you'd be much different. We have a piece of HUMAN Trash as a President who cares NONE about anything except his OWN power and his ability to dictate to others. He's the one we all should be directing our anger toward. The next time you walk into a voting booth you should have a little more on your mind that how much you hate ***. We elected an Incompetent Creature with no concern for those who oppose him and actually believes "You're either with me or against me". When will this God awlful Nightmare end? Sieg Heil Bush!!

I have to get some sleep now fellow patriots. It's my sons birthday weekend, and it sure would have been a lot nicer if the Democrats hadn't joined the Republicans in simply abandoning our Constitution.

But reality is what it is, and we must now do all that is necessary to restore our Constitution, and protect our children's future, with both the Republicans and Democrats actively fighting to usurp our freedom.

A difficult task, but the American people have faced much more difficult challenges in the past and we have always been victorious.

It's a shame that the major figures in both political parties have chosen life in prison for treason, instead of simply upholding our Constitution and the rule of law.

The story says:

""The rule of law is still critical in this country," Rep. John Tierney, a Democrat, said before the losing the mostly party-line 218-207 vote that fell short of two-thirds majority needed for passage."

There is no freakin two thirds majority needed for passage. 50 percent plus one vote will pass. This is the House right?!

Why are we re-writing the constitution on the fly?

No way. Our system is based on checks and balances. The Democrats were willing to give Bush what he wanted but with judicial review of any warrants after 10 days. Bush wants no review. He has threatened to call a special session to get what he wants. Let him. This is not an election year.

If the need was as great as he says, Bush would take what he could get and go after the bad guys post haste.

Let's keep some control and yet cooperate as much as possible. That is why we elected a Democratic congress.

It may be that the Republican extremists and Democratic Quizlings are the greater threat.
So why are we continuing to dismantle the constitution for their benefit.

Most Americans are too asleep or mesmerized by their Fox News and government propaganda to see it. "Be afraid" has replaced "Be brave." "We have nothing to fear by fear itself" is twisted into "Be afraid. Be very afraid". "Live free or die" no longer can be heard over "Take my freedom so I may live". Many Americans have become cowards, hiding behind the assurances that giving up their liberty will make them safe.

The Dumocrats are pathetic, and are (like the repugs) only interested in perpetuating their power. A pox on them all.

Maybe it is time to have community leaders communicate with the local police, to make a list of all clearly unconstitutional "laws", then enjoin them to truly "protect and serve", that is, not to arrest people who are in violation of listed unconstitutional "laws", and to protect citizens threatened by federal law enforcement for violating unconstitutional "laws".

Or else you might go to jail for drinking your next can of coca cola.

Our Congress has voted to alter our Constitution illegally, without amendment.

Will you allow American freedom to die without a whimper?
ST

Amendment IV
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

SearingTruth, A Future of the Brave

"Unlike our founding fathers, we are not asked to forge towards the defeat of some implacable enemy through fields and valleys awash with filth and blood. We are not asked to leave our homes, our land, and our families on an almost certainly fatal journey with little hope of return. And we are not asked to die the brutal and agonizing death of so many anonymous patriots, whose last anguished cry was freedom, alone on some cold and desolate battlefield.

No my friends, all we are asked to do is stand up and fight with our voices and our unaltered votes."

For the record here is some information CBS didn't consider worthwhile providing:

No Republicans voted against the bill. The following Democrats voted for it: Evan Bayh (Indiana); Tom Carper (Delaware); Bob Casey (Pennsylvania); Kent Conrad (North Dakota); Dianne Feinstein (California); Daniel Inouye (Hawai%u2018i); Amy Klobuchar (Minnesota); Nancy Mary Landrieu (Louisiana); Blanche Lincoln (Arkansas); Claire McCaskill (Missouri); Barbara Mikulski (Maryland); Bill Nelson (Florida); Ben Nelson (Nebraska); Mark Pryor (Arkansas); Ken Salazar (Colorado); Jim Webb (Virginia).

Joe Lieberman voted for the bill.

Senators Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Christopher Dodd and Barack Obama all opposed the bill, as did 23 other Democrats and Bernie Sanders, the independent from Vermont.

Since a vote for the losing side really never matters, the real committment of the Democratic Senators who voted against the bill is uncertain.

Which is a greater threat to American democracy? - some dried out fruit cake hiding in a hole in the ground in a far away foreign country or healthy Republican extremists right here in our own country?

It may be that the Republican extremists and Democratic Quizlings are the greater threat.

So why are we continuing to dismantle the constitution for their benefit.

The FISA was intended to bypass the constitution using a secret court to give retroactive approvals to normally illegal acts. Now, even the FISA court is bypassed.

Just throw the constitution in the trash.

Since the Democrats have shown they have no will for defense of American values and American citizens those of us who speak out are not really protected by the law anymore and need to keep that in mind.

Thank you, and fantastic idea fellow patriot!

Here comes the Constitution ...

And here's how to change it if you don't like it. Remember, you can't just "vote" it out of existence, that's called treason. You have to amend it, and here's how.

A new amendment must pass in both the House of Representatives and U.S. Senate with a two-thirds majority vote, or a Constitutional Convention must be called by two-thirds of the state legislatures. If the amendment passes Congress with a two-thirds majority, three-fourths of the states (38) must then ratify it.

Oh yeah. Our founding fathers were brilliant, almost beyond belief.

Fellow patriots, I am calling George Bush out right now.

Our government is no longer American, therefore, as in the beginning, the people must suffice.

I am seriously considering running for political office after todays betrayal by the Democrats. But it is not the path I would choose.

cantshutup,

i'd gladly vote for an independent in 2008. Just find me a good one and we'll go from there. The problem is that the deck is so stacked in favor of the 2 parties.

undermyboot,

you are an a**hole of epic proportions, but I will give you credit for stumbling onto one fairly congruent observation. Anyone who thinks that Cheney isn't really the one making the tough decisions behind the scenes is kidding themselves. I bet in the entire Bush Presidency, you can count on one hand the number of times Bush has said "***, you are wrong, I'm going to do it this way." It just doesn't happen. What Cheney says becomes policy, that's a fact. Cheney is by far the most powerful and influential Vice President in the history of this country, no one is even close.

But enough with the Monkey/Fox/Banana rhetoric, you just make yourself look ignorant.
