Secretary Of State Report Shows No System Tested Was Immune From Tampering
- So All of you know, there was a Report on FRONTLINE (PBS), several Years ago , like in 2002, about how Vice President *** Cheney has a vested interest in the Company DieBold, the maker of these machines, I believe I recall he has Invested in Stock in that company or part owner of the company, as are several other Republicans !This should and needs to be Investigated again, and throughly Researched, maybe some of you out here can write to CBS News, and hopefully have them Investigate this more throughly, if enough people write in and call. As Shady as Cheney is, I wouldn't be Surprised a bit, by any of the reports ! WWW.FRONTLINE.ORG

- Hackable = doable = been done...may explain how
California wound up with two "open borders" "AMNESTY" supporters for Senators.
Paper ballots, pinkie finger dipped into pink/red ink after voting part of the solution - Reply to this comment
- All voting machines (Diebold or other) need to be discarded or adjusted so that there is a verifiable paper trail. Also, central tabulation machines must have the ability to be checked for contaminated, corrupted or tampered data-bases.
If there is any question regarding the outcome of any election, independent election officials should have the ability to correctly tally votes by hand, if necessary.
This is not a partisan issue. Whether one is Democratic, Republican, or Independent, the veracity & dependability of the electoral system needs to be restored nationally, regardless of the cost. The trust & honor of the American voting system depends on it. - Reply to this comment
- well...looks like the Supreme Court could be the deciding factor again...or we just let Bush declare himself official dictator and screw elections. Democracy? We don't need no stinking democracy!

- VOTE ABSENTEE BALLOT ONLY!
WHY?
1. IT'S PAPER
2. YOU CAN MAKE A COPY OF IT (if you have a scanner/copy machine at home or nearby).
Again:
VOTE ABSENTEE BALLOT ONLY! - Reply to this comment
- Look at how the game is played, ES&S waits till the last minute to provide Bowen with the needed information, the tests are conducted in such a way that leaves room for doubt rather than simulating actual conditions and now Bowen faces a deadline...tick-tock-tick-tock...the county political machines like things just as they are and--like dullards everywhere--are content to rely on 'official' certifications rather than looking at the results of tests and simulations.
I hope Californians will go after the county officials. Your guess is as good as mine whether of not Bowen will approve the machines, she has left herself--with the shoddy tests-- plenty of wiggle room in any event. - Reply to this comment

"Will"? Did you say "will" as in the future tense?
The neocon fascists are arranging to never lose an election again, and they won't have to worry about an election per curiam, like the one that put their head chimp in power. - Reply to this comment
- You need to throw out those machines. Your voting system is corrupt.
In Canada, when we vote, we go into a large room where there are tables. There are two people sitting at each table. In front of them they have a list of all names. When you go to a table the first thing that happens is you show two pieces of ID of who you are and then they put a line through your name. They then give you a folded piece of paper with the candidates names on it. You then go into a booth and mark your choice and refold the paper. When you come back out NO ONE touches that paper but you. YOU put it through a narrow slot in a SEALED box. - Reply to this comment
