Back on topic, it looks like we may FINALLY get some inspection of cargo containers on ships. You could put one heck of an explosive device inside one of those containers large enough to hold a car. Then you put it on a truck trailer and haul it through downtown and you could have your next Oklahoma City on your hands.

Try Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Bikini Atoll, or the Nevada desert.

The most controversial provision in the legislation requires the radiation scanning of cargo containers in more than 600 ports from which ships leave for the U.S. The White House, and other critics, say that the technology isn't there, that the requirement could disrupt trade and that current procedures including manifest inspections at foreign ports and radiation monitoring in U.S. ports are working well.

Do you think the countries those ships are leaving from will scan those ships? Let's be real about this. Not unless they get a huge chunk of money from us and then maybe.
A bill requiring foreign states to inspect cargo leaving their country, that's pushing it. I hope it goes through, but it's going to take billions more from us to implement this.
The technology is there. They were x-raying ALL tractor trailer rigs that were incoming to US bases in Iraq. The containers just have to be inspected before they go on the ship.
I hate to imagine what a 10 mega-ton nuke going off in one of our harbors would do....

===but always cut funding to those who did - namely the Clinton-Carter-McGovern-Pelosi and Reid Democrats===

You forgot George Bush Sr and his significant defense budget cuts after the cold war ended.

And I do doubt that you served, US18988. The fact that you are still alive becasue someone from your own unit didn't put a bullet in the back of your head is proof. Talk about unpleasant.

===I find it interesting that Republicans, many of whom actively and vocally denounced Bill Clinton for lying, have yet to denounce George Bush.===

They have to actually admit first that Bush lied. But I haven't seen this much denial since Tom Cruise got married to a woman.

And you are a bonafife liar, Witless.

If you did serve, it was at a px, maybe in New London or San Diego, but that's even highly doubtful.

Your Jack Daniels awaits...better swig it down and dream of Pelosi - or was it Barney Frank.

LOL
