How long do we as American's allow this to go on. Who amoung us can feel secure in our Justice System when the Attorney General LIES the way this one does.

As long as a president has the power to grant immunity or pardons to public officers of his own excecutive branch, he is going to be able to keep in place liars like Gonzales. The only alternative left to the legislative branch would be impeachment, and it wouldn't be easy with the slim majority of the democrats in the Senate. And to make impeachment less likely, there are some democrats in the Senate than are quite conservative. If it was not because of the power of the president to grant pardon or immunity to his own people, Bolton and Miers would have paid attention to the summons served on them to appear before the House. They didn't even appear. Now they are going to be served subpoenas under penalty of contempt. But Bush has presumably promised to pardon them in case they are found guilty of contempt. Besides, how is the House going to enforce any jail judgment of its own or of any court when the legislative branch has no jails, etc.? That there is a flaw in our Constitution? Certainly.

These are documented facts. Americans just don't care, why else are these terrorists still in office. Until Americans start to take action these conversations are meaningless - a waste of time.

I hope that the chimp, cheney, gonzo, rove, and addington dismantle our constitution and turn America into a communistic state. The new generation will have to fight for freedom, and learn to appreciate it.

The Dems are just angry the Bush Administration used the Terrorist Surveillance Program to prevent more major attacks within the US. Dems hate America and would LOVE to see another terrorist attack, so they could blame Bush for it. DemocRats are such hypocrites.

Do you fascist actually HAVE a copy of the Constitution? I know you losers have hated that "liberal" document since pen hit paper but if you are going to hate something so much at least get a copy and READ it. What the Congress and the "DemocRats" are doing is REQUIRED of them by that document and the laws of this land. "DemocRats" did NOT rule the Bush Spying Operation against that Constitution either! It is so shameful and disheartening to have a president who is both clueless and despotic, a vice president who is essentially a criminal, a cabinet that participates in the degradation of our international reputation, and a supreme judiciary that is no longer independent of political and religious dogma from the extremists on the far right. Gonzales is just a symbol of a much larger problem.

When the votes and social consciousness of so many of our citizens are dominated by the false premises of Rush Limbaugh and the brazen lies and hateful deceptions of Sean Hanity, we are indeed in serious trouble as a nation. I have lived through the terms of 12 presidents since Franklin Roosevelt. Never has there been one as stupid and incompetent as Bush. Under the leadership of any one of those presidents, Gonzales would have been gone before his tainted character shamed us. But, oh no! Not with Bush. With him what counts is obedience and blind loyalty over competent performance of public duty.
