Comments on: Documents Contradict Gonzales Testimony
AP: AG Told Congress Meetings Did Not Focus On Surveillance, Documents Show Otherwise
- There is a great threat to America, one right here on our soil. It threatens the very fabric of the Constitution which defines this nation and its people. It is a runaway administration which has circumvented the courts, ignored the elected body of Congress and redefined the laws to serve its on ends.
On July 17th with a stroke of the pen, President Bush annulled parts of the fifth, sixth and fourteenth amendments of our Constitution. He signed an executive order which essentially erased the implicit idea of presumption of innocence and the due process of the law protecting property. This infamous piece of paper is known as: Executive Order: Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq. It is the duty of all Americans regardless political affiliations to demand it to be scrapped. To lose constitutional rights, rights which are self evident and our heritage, we lose what it means to be Americans. - Reply to this comment
- Let's play.... SATIRIZING CBS NEWS STORIES!!!
Title:
"ARE YOUR CRONIES AND POLITICAL ALLIES MAKING YOU CORRUPT?"
Studies have shown that appointing friends with little or no job qualifications will surely corrupt and destroy the integrity of the office they're appointed to.
"Corruption spreads through friends, through political allies, and through campaign donors." Says Dr. Noshit of the Reality-Of-The-21st-Century University.
Results of the study have shown that friends of a particular president are 110% more likely to commit a crime or destroy the integrity of the political office/position they are appointed to (at the very least).
The sad fact is that the study also points to a lazy and brainwashed electorate for their inability to prevent such corruption.
..............
And there you have it! Satirizing CBS News stories is fun!
(so guess which story I was satirizing) - Reply to this comment

- The only war ever initiated by the Rebuplican's was the fuster cluck called Iraq/afghanistan. Well lookie above: see I told you morons - Now, I thought it was ok to go into afganistan ? but I guess not. This means all those 3,000 people who were killed during 9/11 died in vain. Oh, I forgot, Bush and Chaney did 9/11. Sorry. And they did the Invasion of Iraq, and Pearl Harbor (I think Georgie W. would be just alittle too young. You people are moronic and stupid.

- Every time AG Gonzales testifies, he digs himself into a bigger hole. First, how could a drugged (pain medicience) Ashcroft detail any legal arguments. Everybody agreed that he was pretty much well out of it. To his credit, he had ceded his authority to his deputy. Second, all they would have had to do is to call Ashcroft's doctor to see what shape he was in.
Third, they already knew that Comry was in charge of DOJ. Somebody - either the President or VP - called Mrs. Ashcroft to ask for permission to talk to Ashcroft. She must not have consented because she called Comry immediately to have him intervene. Somebody must have notified the Director of the FBI because he too evidently tried to stop the visit. Fourth, now the AG's testimony is contradicted by actual documentation.
If I was a DOJ employee and had Gonzales giving a lecture on good government and how to do my job, I would attend if mandatory but these events would be in the front of my mind. I hope Gonzales resigns soon.
Again, it is not the actual deed that does the most harm, it is the coverup that comes after that gets folks into big time trouble. - Reply to this comment
- If Nancy Pelosi was serious about "restoring the constitutional checks and balances" she would not have taken impeachment off the table.
We the people have an opportunity to restore the constitution. All we have to do is take every congressman off the table that does not sign onto the present impeachment bill.
As for the so called Bush supporters on this forum. They are most likely part of the 1500 person team Bush hired to attempt to convince the people that there is ANY support for Bush/ his war and the North American Union they are setting up.
Ignore these traitors, it is not like they ever have anything factual or intelligent to say. They are just traitors and media ******. - Reply to this comment
- The only war ever initiated by the Rebuplican's was the fuster cluck called Iraq/afghanistan. It seems America and the Congress have tired of the I am the Decider BS. We demand accountability in the executive branch in the justice branch and the congress. If we do not do what is right by our constitution(which BTW these guys swore to uphold)then our democracy will fall. America will never fall from the outside provided we deal with what is rotten from the inside. The executive branch has spied on americans with out wiretaps. The FISA law is clear on that point. Granting the comander in chief powers to make Iraq Disarm did not grant the executive the authority to wiretap. This concept of unitary executive is dangerous, and is likely to be abused. That is why impeachment must be put on the table to prevent subversion of the us constitution.

I hope not myself, besides the inept Bush Admin can't even charge the culprits for 9/11 and still haven't identified the masterminds and found the money source.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osama_bin_Laden
But so far, the U.S. Justice Department has not sought formal criminal charges against bin Laden (or anyone but Zacarias Moussaoui) for the 9/11 attacks. - Reply to this comment
- Hermann Goering quote
%u201CNaturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.%u201D - Reply to this comment

- If you refuse to do so, eventually, you will be called to account for your crimes and the bribes you are taking.

Good call, T., but consider that the crimes and perversions will come out sooner or later anyway, so they might as well "make hay while the sun shines", as it were, there is no impetus to resign.
As for a rally on Sept 15, the NSA is already setting up the next "attack", they are warning, and generally raising the fear level. As long as they think the fear is working, there is no need for an actual "attack event", but with growing number of us who see through it, there will have to be an "event" to prove us wrong. Expect it sometime around the report going public, and before any vote to stop the killings and bring the soldiers home.
So what will the "event" be? We can only guess, but a convenient target would be a crowd of protesters around the white house, "two birds, etc.", and Bush is definitely stupid enough to kill protesters against the war, then blame it on the Iraqis. - Reply to this comment

- It's no wonder why the American public thinks so poorly about the Democrat-led Congress (14% and sinking).
They can't solve anything!
They have no ideas!
They are cowards!
They can only whine and point fingers at Republicans. - Reply to this comment
