I'm English and watched this debate from across the pond on CNN.I found it fascinating as we don't really have these type of debates over here. What I would say is that a lot of you seem to talk of time for a change and hence Obama is always mentioned as the choice of the undecided because he is a good orator. As fan of Tony Blair he was the best speaker I have seen in my lifetime. The problem was he often couldn't back up the rhetoric with actions. In other words Obama talks a good game but will he deliver.
The part I found most intriging was when asked about a health care plan. They all committed to it except Clinton which was seized upon by some.Do any of you know what these plans are.Do any of you know how they are going to fund them.
Talk is cheap and I have a feeling a lot of you are being seduced by Mr.Obama.
In today's world with the problems we face not just from war, terrorism and globalisation and poverty THE WORLD needs an experienced political leader in charge in Washington.
From what I saw you have only one person to choose.SHE controlled the debate and looked like a president in waiting.
Thats my opinion for what its worth.

gunshack1,

I think any Democrat has an excellent chance of winning the electoral college in 2008.

First of all, I don't see any of the so-called blue states that would swing to the GOP(me,vt,nh,ma,ct,ri,ny.pa,nj,md,del,dc,mi,il,mn,wisc,
ca,ore,wa,haw). That's 252 of the 270 needed.

The recent swing states which have barely gone Republican are Ohio, Florida, Iowa, and New Mexico.

With the immigration issue driving Hispanics to the democrats in much greater numbers, New Mexico should tip. There's also a Democratic Governor to help to prevent vote fraud. 13 to go.

Iowa is the pinkest state of all. The war is extremely unpopular there and should turn it blue. 6 to go.

That leaves the GOP vote-stealing lottery states of 2000 and 2004, Ohio and Florida. The GOP needs to hold both. The Dems only need 1. No Republican has ever been elected President without carrying Ohio,

Ken Blackwell is gone. Ohio has an entirely Democratic counsel of state to oversee the election. It will be much more difficult for the Republicans to fix the vote. They will have to use their newly minted federal prosecutors to challenge votes. But it probably won't be close enough for that to work. The GOP is like cancer in Ohio now.

The answer to your question is yes.

If the running of the second biggest state in our nation is not experience for President Bush, where do you claim Hillary gets her experience. Perhaps it was riding her husbands coatails, or not significantly living in the state she was elected to the Senate from.

Hmmm, If Hillary was VP and Obama President then we would have another Bush/Cheney type duo but only a 180 turn around from the cast of characters now. Bush had no experience like Obama - and Cheney is a bulldog like Hillary - then the Democrats can dump on the Republicans in the same like manner the Dems are being dumped on now. Hillary could really run the country the way Cheney set it up as the VP seems more powerful then the President these days.

This might be a good thing!

Look at the blue state red state map of the last election result and ask yourself this question, "Can a woman or a black man be elected president"? CA. yes, NY yes, PA yes, IL yes. The rest of the country? Just asking.

I AGREE WITH HILLARY: Obama is immature and irresponsible. Hillary is too. BOTH want to pull out, withdraw, and surrender to Al Qaeda, just when the field reports of the Iraqi people now rejecting Al Qaeda and helping to kill them. Why withdraw and quit when we are winning. Never retreat, always advance, make no place safe for terrorists, specifically Al Qaeda. Shoot them from Preditors in Africa, seek and destroy in Iraq, and Afganistan, and prepare for destroying their sanctuary in Pakistan. Close our border with the authorized fence. Democrats need to get in the game of getting after these terrorists, instead of being eaten up with meaningly jammy parties during which the only thing accomplished was a mean cancellation by the Senate of the pay raises for the fighting men and women, and for better health care for veterans.

Well the republican party is totally and completely unacceptable thanks to Bush, from now until the end of time. '

Now the implosion of the Democrats begins.

Holy ***!

Another non-issue for the long campaign season. Clinton has criticized Bush in the past for not being open to the VERY SAME THING. Any RATIONAL president (Bush excluded of course)would not take negotiating with ANYONE off the table if we could gain from it.Sounds like Obama would be a rational president.

cathaleen,

What's naive is to make promises like Bush & Clinton to ignore those who disagree with us and only meet with those who agree. Meeting with those who agree with us are called photo opps, they serve no constructive purpose.

Not meeting with those we disagree with also serves no contructive purpose. What happens is that we end up having to look like hypocrites when we ultimately have to backtrack(think Bush meeting with North Korea & Iran).

Obama was right. Clinton was for meeting with so-called rogue nations before she was against it. What else is new, she is a hypocrite.
