I think it speaks volumes about the current state of the Republican party that a senior senator with cancer who hasn't announced his candidacy is polling higher than those who have entered the race.

Hate to even bring this up but maybe he is having issues with his cancer, who knows. As soon as he jumps in, the media is going to make an issue of his health.

I think Fred Thompson is just a big ol' phony. He's been ensconced in the beltway in DC for over 20 years lobbying for "unusual" clients and having a less than stellar Senate career while pretending to be a good ol' boy from Tennessee. He seems sort of slow and plodding. Not really a go-getter or especially bright.

Kind of shocking that so many conservatives seem willing to settle for someone so ordinary without even determining if he can perform under pressure in a debate against Hillary or answer any tough questions not delivered by Sean Hannity. He's not even that conservative!

I like Giuliani and Romney much better. They both seem more qualified and have a lot more enthusiasm and energy for the job. They provide the badly needed CHANGE we need in Washington. Obama, Clinton, Edwards and Fred just offer more of the same, status quo, DC political mess.

It is well known that women vote for the candidate they find most attractive and men vote for the candidate whose wife most resembles their mother.

Unfortunately, that is bad news for Thompson.

Sorry bubba, but your logic is meaningless. The military might of the USA being used to attack a country based upon lies is IMMORAL! I'll take the moral highground over the special interests GOP, bought and payed for by Corporate America ANYDAY! At least I can sleep with my choices.

hahahahah you are calling the inventor of the internet and global warmiing a liar hahahahaha

the war is legal

the resumption of hostilities was only a matter of time since iraq broke the ceasefire agreement.....

blame saddam for iraq%u2026%u2026. Even clintoon and the dems wanted the resumption of hostilities back in 1998

Moreover, no international law can prevent the United States from taking actions to protect its vital interests, when it is manifestly clear that there is a choice to be made between law and survival. I believe, however, that such a choice is not presented in the case of Iraq. Indeed, should we decide to proceed, that action can be justified within the framework of international law rather than outside it. In fact, though a new UN resolution may be helpful in building international consensus, the existing resolutions from 1991 are sufficient from a legal standpoint. - Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

Who is his VP choice? I need to know because Freddie has a cancerous prostate and if he is Prez, he will die from the cancer in office leaving his VP in charge.

NO THANKS!!!

Imagine if that had happened to Dubya! Then we'd have to stop learning to say "Heil Bush!" and have to start saying "Heil Hitl....er....Cheney!" (I keep forgetting. Which one was the bad guy? Hitler or Cheney? They just sort of blend.)

Who cares any more? Like in those bad movies when there's singer in the nightclub audience, he wants to pretend to be begged into performing and his act has gotten old. Reserve him a room next door to McCain's at the rest home in Sun City. Primadonna's this country does NOT need.

But right now we are at war both in Iraq and here on our own Homeland. Al Queda has seen to that.

No, you and your fellow "Israel First" Rethuglicons are why the USA is in a made up war, fostered in part by your Fascsist beliefs and by Corporate America and the needless US Military Industrail Complex. You are the perfect schlep to vote for another idiot based upon lies instead of the facts. But I do agree with you, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

This guy is a dud. He should stick to acting (even though he doesn't even do that very well) and hooking up with young girls (which he apparently does very well).

Some day, some day, the 'pubs will stop sending these empty suits to the white house. They hobble middle class americans with wars and taxes and their "trickle up" thievery. Where are the Eisenhower statesman...
