All the Republicans have is obfuscation. The same old "things are getting a little better", "we have a new strategy", "we just need a little more time", or "we just need decades", and on and on and on.

(from ST)
............

I've seen various senators put up props to emphasize their message.

The one biggest prop/display, and one that would potentially shut down the pro-war profiteering senators/politicians for good would be this:

A COMPLETE LIST OF IRAQ WAR SUPPORTING POLITICIANS THAT HAVE RECEIVED CAMPAIGN DONATIONS FROM THE COMPANIES ENJOYING NO-BID CONTRACTS IN IRAQ, SUCH AS THE FOLLOWING: (BECHTEL, HALLIBURTON, AND BLACKWATER, JUST TO NAME A FEW). AND YES, THIS INCLUDES DEMOCRATS AND "INDEPENDENTS" AS WELL.

"Two were killed in west Baghdad and another died in an east Baghdad bombing, the military said. Four other Americans were wounded in the east Baghdad blast, the command said. Two insurgents responsible for the attack were killed, the statement added."

How long before one of the Republicans tries to throw some blame for the latest news on the Democrats for having ongoing Senate debate over the Iraq War? I'm waiting for the "Tet" comparison.

SearingTruth,
Glad to see you are back in these boards, you would not believe some of the distractive babble that goes on while you are gone on these things!

I wish Casey would have asked "Why should we have any faith in the President's policy in Iraq when he just recently lied to to us about which Al-Qaeda attacked us on 9-11? And if he didn't know how totally wrong he was about that, again, why should we have any faith in him or his policy?"

Republican senate comment always refer to "let the troops do their jobs", "let our military work", "we await the decision of the military" -

My God - doesn't civilian authority prime over military?

Don't we give our military their marching orders?

This attempt to treat the military as a separate branch of government is frightening, to say the least - unconstitutional for sure.

I do believe that many of these republican senators would welcome even a "military government" !

It is a poor show for our democracy when, on the floor of the senate, debate is conditioned by awaited annoucements of military persons appointed by the executive branch!

We the People have the right to declare war - our Congress must rescind that decision made in 2001.

Oh my goodness gracious.

Not Senator Coleman!

Yikes.

He's got the same list as everyone else.

Oh well, I have to get to bed so I can get to work tomorrow anyway.

Keep up the good work Democrats, and remember, the people are watching, and we expect far more than this. We expect an end to the war, by withdrawing all funding if necessary. And of course the impeachment of Bush and Cheney and trial of all his henchmen.

This is a good start however. Thank you.

And good night to all the loyal patriots on this forum. I'll be back soon.

SearingTruth,

I saw straight-talk and gravitas. When she stuttered that one time when she talked about how much we've spent in Iraq, I could just envision Fox News playing that over and over again forward and backward (those b*astar*ds).

It's nice to hear someone talking about developing strategy for sensible withdrawal. She's right. The key is to start doing it. That's how we support the troops.

Bingo, bingo, and bingo.

All the Republicans have is obfuscation. The same old "things are getting a little better", "we have a new strategy", "we just need a little more time", or "we just need decades", and on and on and on.

Honestly, they're like a bunch of beans rattling around in a barrel.

And they're running our country, into the ground.

Thank goodness Americans are finally standing up to stop them.

And put them on trial.

SearingTruth,

I don't think he mentioned the fact the Brits have reduced their force levels down in Basra when he talked about the violence in Basra.

He did mention Saudi Arabia but selectively failed to mention that most of the "homicide-bombers" (kidding) in Iraq are coming from that country.

And it would take forever to cut through his krap to show how selective he was overall. He picked a ton of cherries.
