Lawmakers, Lobbyists From Coal-Burning States Quash Mandates On Cleaner Energy Sources
- l8c6 - once having had a death threat from a very conscious believer of Islam, the fundamentalism from "the other side" is refreshing. No Christian has given me a death threat yet. having read more of the Bible lately, there are passages of just due relevance.
As for the article, plant some more trees or figure out a technological analogue to photosynetheis... the CO2 will enrich the trees, and photosynthesis replaces CO2 with oxygen. Delicious O2. :-9 - Reply to this comment
- Increase the price of coal or tax it like beer and cigarettes. Which the change.

- I am still convinced that the Christians believe the Rapture is coming and the amount of CO2 won't matter. So why worry or upset their business prospects?

It is like something is just not quite right with people from the south other than their right wing political loyalty. Maybe an unidentified fungus has affected their DNA. They continue to repeat the rhetoric of the neo con politicians and false prophet preacher men who have deceived them.
One thing that has been disturbing for a number years is the bizarre, creepy and quirky alliance between neo con politicians, fundamentalist fascist preacher men and the zionist movement. These people are as terrifyingly tied into religious fanaticism as those terrorists they are so fearing. - Reply to this comment
- as i check from post to post, all i see is everyone saying how unbelievable it is to see anything good come from this administration.there is never any promising or good news at all anymore. this administration must truly be the most hated of all administrations.the sad part is that there is noone actively running now who will make changes for the good of the people.nancy pelosi is a loser for not making the impeachment of bush her first and foremost concern. when cindy sheehan reaches washington dc, she will have my support to run against nancy pelosi.cindy should run for president as we need someone with balls running this country.

- "If we are irrational about it and we cripple our economy or cripple our industry and we realize carbon dioxide wasn't the source of the problem, then we'll be real regretful," said Chris Hobson, senior vice president for research and environmental affairs at Southern Co., whose subsidiaries include Georgia Power Co. and Alabama Power Co.
Okay what if you are WRONG? What if ALL the scientist are right and these Southern Nazi's are wrong, do they pay extra because the rest of us have to suffer? We MUST keep this in mind when the do-do hits the fan folks. If these Nazi's want to play that game then there's a down side and they should be well aware of it. Sieg Heil Y'all. - Reply to this comment
- "Last month, Republican senators from the South accounted for about half of the opposition to failed legislation that would have required power companies to get 15 percent of their electricity from renewable sources by 2020. Nationally, almost half the states have adopted their own renewable mandates, but only one, Texas, is in the South."
This isn't surprising. The republicans are more than willing to sacrifice people and the environment to big business as long as the political donations keep pouring in. If they had to put a gun to someone's head and pull the trigger to get a donation, they would do it without even thinking twice. - Reply to this comment

- So. Utilities, GOP drive blindfolded off a cliff.
