- The report says nothing significant was said, but ignorred Gravel's call to abolish the income tax (and replace it with a sales tax that he says can be progressive ? what?) and Kuncinich's call to withdraw from NAFTA and WTO (the only substantial comment about outsourcing). Corporate Infotainment does not want us to notice the significant remarks.

- You know how many people? And how many billion and billions of dollars america would save? If we turned drugs into a healthcare issue? And not a crime issue? Huh?
Probably enough to fund the healthcare!

- THERE'S ALWAYS BEEN TERRORISM! THERE'LL ALWAYS BE TERRORISM! The Bush administration by declaring a "war on terror" declared a "war on drugs". Millions and millions of people locked up in jail for no crime theyz dun! "We have to be able to catch them before they do it." They say.
WELL HOW DOES THAT WORK?! How do you go to jail for a crime you haven't committed yet?! Ask the Bush administration. Ask the Republicans. - Reply to this comment
- Mike Gravel talked about victimless crime. And how much a heavy burden it is on everybody, and not just the communities. But the jails! And the government! How this.. "war on drugs" is like a "war on terror". With no clear and present enemy. No tangible thing to even see!
Mike Gravels issue about drugs was probably the best one up there. All those other idiots just wanted people to clap. - Reply to this comment

- Not one question during last nights debate on the topic of illegal immigration why weren%u2019t these candidates asked why they voted for the amnesty bill and if they realizes it hurts the African American community.
Just as Mike Gravel said on stage at the end of the debate, most of these candidates don%u2019t have the moral judgment to be President of the United States.

In her essay in the newly released volume Debating Immigration, which Professor Swain edited, she said that African Americans are losing more jobs to illegal immigrants than to other racial or ethic groups, yet low income black workers don%u2019t have political input in the debate.
%u201CAfrican Americans have been left devoid of a strong black voice in Congress on a topic that affects them deeply, given their high unemployment rates and historic struggle to get quality housing, health care, education and other goods and services,%u201D writes Professor Swain.

"Of course, even though the smoking gun is readily available to the media they aren't reporting it."
It just blows my mind, if stuff like this is happening, and it seems from what you say, everyone knows it; it should be headline news and people should be going to jail, but in Congress, for the last two months,
they have been going on about some attorneys being fired, go figure. - Reply to this comment

Steal our votes and you've stolen democracy, July 12, 2006
By Robert Moore (Chicago, IL USA)
So if votes were stolen, how were they? This is a harder question to answer. We know that there was vast voter suppression on the part of the GOP, but actual theft of votes is more in the way of speculation. The data definitely suggests THAT votes were stolen but does not describe HOW it was stolen. The book describes many ways that the votes could have been stolen. - Reply to this comment
