Comments on: House Dems Move To Cut Cheney's Funding
Spending Bill Amendment Response To VP's Claim He Is Not Part Of Executive Branch
- This administration ignored the intelligence white paper that suggested the 9/11 attacks. They ignore Geneva Convention rules, ignored the truth about Niger yellowcake, they ignore constitutional protections on privacy, and they ignore their own ethics violations like cursing out lawmakers in Congressional session, lobbyists kickbacks, e-mail sexual propositions, and the like. You know Cheney is involved in this administration, and there is no doubt he will ignore most of this too. Is this what religious right Republicans bring to American politics?

- to veteran71,
"The Dutch were in command of the fort Victoria on Amboyna in 1623 when a rumor reached them that the Japanese mercenary soldiers (samurai) that the Dutch East Indian Company had hired, plus several Englishmen were conspiring to take over the fort. To find out the truth, they tortured several Japanese and Englishmen. Torture consisted of having water poured over the head, round which a cloth was draped. This was the usual torture in the Dutch Indies at the time. If the suspect did not confess after that, burning candles were held under his arm pits. According to Dutch records all suspects confirmed that they were guilty as charged, with or without being tortured.
The part before the burning candles is "waterboarding". - Reply to this comment
- to neoconRcrazy,
They have already won. Hundreds of thousands are dead, millions more traumatized and living in fear of the midnight raid, billions of US dollars gone from the treasury, and, even if impeached, they will still live the life of the super rich. Our laws have been reinterpreted as applying only to the middle and poor, and the moneyed elite will ensure it stays that way.
Meanwhile we blog, but most of us only blog. I am in southeast Asia working with local music schools at the grassroots level, trying to maintain a good name for at least some of us. If it becomes necessary for me to return there, I will use every breath to help reclaim our country, how about you?
If all we do is blog, then they have won. - Reply to this comment
- Look at his eyes! Look at his eyes! The man is mad.
And he's only a Bushit heart beat away from controlling the world's most powerful, nuclear armed forces.

- Our sense of balance and sanity as a nation is America's Laws, America's Rules of the road, it helps things make sense, it helps us know where we are and helps us find our way back when things go wrong, when we don't have American Laws and American Rules, we are like a ship without a rudder, spinning around endlessly without a rudder in the middle of the ocean. If they don't have to answer to American Laws or are above American Laws, we ARE in big trouble! Nobody should be above the law, not in the U.S., not anywhere for that matter.

- Cheney is by far the most un-American to have held that priviledge.
Is what he has done so terrible that he must hide it from the eyes of the People?
Whatever he has done our right to know must be enforced otherwise "they" will have won. - Reply to this comment
