Umm your wrong. Hispanic is a heritage! As far as race, Hispanics are in the same category as Caucasian.
Posted by penskeone at 12:04 PM : Jun 15, 2007

Actually, that is not true. Most Hispanics are of mixed racial heritage. European combined with Native American. Native American is not considered part of the caucasoid line, having a lineage that genetically can be traced more accurately to the Mongoloid race (Asian).

Most Hispanics are American Indian mixed with Irish, German, Spanish, English, etc--and in expansion some of those from Puerto Rico and Brazil, Panama, Ecuador, etc are also mixed with African blood. Hispanics can be construed as white or nonwhite--but few have bloodlines that do not indicate some native American lineage.

We may lose this attempt--but we will not have lost in every way. It is soooo easy to just shrug, accept the events around us and say--it is too much or we don't have a chance. We are Americans. We don't fight because we have a chance and we don't give up when chances are slim.

We fight and resist what we think is wrong or not fair--because ---to our bones we know that the only true loser is the ones who fail to even try. Trying may bring a win or a loss--but failing to try is a guaranteed loss. Everybody should remember that when they talk about "We can't possibly deport 12 million people".

How many people oppose this bill? 42%? is that over 12 Million? Maybe like ---over a hundred million? Well if each of the hundred million dedicated themselves to exposing just ONE potential illegal--we could do what no one has even tried to do.

Defeatism is seductive--if you like that sort of thing--but we are Americans--to give up or in without even trying should not be in our lexicon.

BTW, for those who really think this is not feasible, I can personally vouch for the present location of at least 67 illegals, so I am willing to share with at least 66 others.

This can be done. With the right attitude and will--almost anything can be done. What the politicians should admit is not what we can't do--but what they and their supporters don't want to do. There is a difference.

above all, don't make the attacks personal. Personal comments are the refuge of desperation--you don't know these people, they don't know you--obviously when they have their exchanges with each other in which you are discussed, take it as a compliment--note they only reserve their asides for certain people. they have several goals:

1. To goad you into posting things that make you look as bad as they do.

2. To get you off topic.

3. To try to destroy your credibility

You will note they do not do that by staying on the issue and rebutting it--they get personal. This is usually a neo con tactic on the Iraq war blogs--but apparently responding with diatribes (ie., your're a racist, bigot, liar, problem, loser, etc) is an act of someone who has no rebuttal save that of the smear. We all know that. Let them and their comments be the most effective weapon against their own viewpoint.

As for those of you who really care about this issue--don't stop with your comments here--DO call or write your Congressman, if you can, get out and march and if nothing else--when ever the opportunity comes up speak out about it. Not ragging or complaining--just point out simple things--like that recent situation in California, where the hospitals are so overwhelmed they let a woman die in her own vomit and blood on the ER floor. Things like that happen when only a segment of the population is really carrying the weight and the others are primarily users instead of contributors to a system.

For those who are not pro amnesty--I would like to share with you a recent experience of mine:

While at a water park, with some of my kids I was speaking to a woman about the illegal immigration issue. We were in those inner tubes and were on the "lazy River". Well after stll talking after making the circuit a few times--we noted that a number of people had gathered--to either listen or comment. Most people who were listening (around 14 innertubes) had not given much thought to the immigration issue--or had no clue what to do about it. After we discussed the pros and cons--quite a few said they would call their Congressman or come and read the blogs for more info. My point is this--we all can and actually do make a difference--our words and gestures however slightly, can influence the currents of this issue. Which brings me to another point: No matter how goaded by ugly name calling, jokes, ridicule or persecution from the opposition--try not to indulge. Let it be a one way street. Don't be distracted--stick with your points. Let the so called party of tolerance--call the names, plant the innuendoes and tell the lies. They do more damage to their own credibility than anything said in rebuttal--and they prove without a shadow of doubt--that their "tolerance" extends only as far as their own wishes and convictions and the veneer is quite thin.

Well...like it or not, I can see the writing on the wall. Has Bush been denied anything he wanted since taking office? Clearly wrong and impulsive, whether it means butchering the Constitution or just 're-defining' civil rights...they go with him. Sure, they are putting up a brave fight, but it's all for show. Bush will get his 20 million legalized just in time for the election and the platform will be 'which party loves you, now?' It's a game and we might as well grab the vasoline and self-administer because we're about be royally s...r..ew..ed!! Walk it off. They have bigger and badder things up their sleeves.

Bush's march is inexorable and already predetermined "in the cards" as they say. Of course the people who walk with him don't realize this. EAch for their own reason, beds with him and believes he is right. They believe it, because he is doing something they want to do too--whether it is fighting or adopting 12 to 20 million illegal people to have the protection and permission of the law to be here. After this passes, there will be no more city sanctions curbing squatting or rentals or the movements of suddenly "legitimate undocumented immigrants".

Bush and History will show that those who balked at illegal amnesty also were right. This time Bush will bring down the Dems as he rides on the shoulders of many who may have their own reasons for supporting this--but will watch as this measure destroys our country. Bush's destiny is IGNOMINY. Like Judas Iscariot it was set from birth--and the destiny of those who champion him--on any front is that of enablers--this WILL be a huge mess and because of who primarily backs it--Democrats will also have their shot at shame and shortsightedness in history.

President Bush has a destiny he knows it--and he knows it has eluded him all his life. He has continually been caught up and driven by ventures like an earnest gambler that he believed would secure his place. These ventures have caused him to be a laughing stock--have caused his father to cringe and lament as he watched his namesake stumble, bumble and screw up --it is like everything Junior touches turns to *******. It was okay when it was in the family. When just a few phone calls and a bit of money could make it right. But when George Jr. pursued and got the biggest job in the land--that elephant was too big for dad and his friends to eat or handle.

Bush will forever be remembered and reviled for the Iraq war. He and those whose shoulders he rode will bear the brunt of history's contempt and condemnation for destroying Iraq. But Iraq alone is not his destiny. History will humble neo cons or at least reveal their misjudgements and misplaced zeal--time does that. But there is more-- end of part 1

Not good enough?

Well then, you're a simple racist.
ST
It's fearing truth, look you might have a start on a good idea. However, it doesn't address border security, entitlements, taxes...etc.
BTW, have not committed any crime. Isn't being here illegally a crime? Isn't falsifying documentation a crime? Or do you just mean have not been convicted of a crime?

Oh, it's so easy to call someone a racist if they don't agree with your views, isn't it?

For years illegal immigration was accepted and now suddenly we want to just throw everyone out of here.
First sweetie, illegal immigration has never been accepted, maybe tolerated because of all the rhetoric like" there are too many to deport","it will break up the families"...etc.

It does not work that way because people have roots here, particularly families.
Illegal roots. If you raise vegetables and have a problem with weeds, you get rid of the weeds, not try to integrate them into the garden.

American citizen spouses like myself are separated from their husbands and wives.
As I said before, how is it that being married to a foreigner and being a citizen, he should've had a short path to citizenship, but, he did break the law. I believe it was driving without a license and insurance, right?
What if he had hit somebody, or killed somebody?

Many people don't see faces with these mass deportations.
We see the faces, in everyone of the protest marches, we see them in the emergency rooms where citizens can not get served because the hospital is too busy delivering anchor babies. I see it in the elderly and poor citizens who can't get services or help, because it is funneled to the illegals.

Two Mexicans are riding along Pacific Coast Highway on a motorbike.
They break down and start hitching a lift. A friendly trucker stops to
see if he can help and the Mexicans ask him for a lift. He tells them he has
no room in the wagon as he is carrying 20,000 bowling balls.

The Mexicans put it to the driver that if they can manage to fit in the back
with their bike will he take them and he agrees.
They manage to squeeze themselves and their motorbike into the back
of the wagon so the driver shuts the doors and gets off on his way. By
this time he is really late and so puts his foot down.

Sure enough the Highway Patrol pulls him over for speeding. The good officer
asks the driver what he is carrying to which he replies jokingly-- "Mexican eggs".
The policeman obviously doesn't believe this so wants to take a look. He
opens the back door and quickly shuts it and locks it. He gets on his
radio and calls for immediate backup from as many officers as possible.
The dispatcher asks what emergency he has that requires so many officers.
"I've got a wagon with 20,000 Mexican eggs in it - 2 have hatched
and they've already managed to steal a motorbike".

The American people are beginning to gain too much intelligence for the ruling elites of this country.

That's why both parties want to legalized tens-of-millions of illegal immigrants, in hopes to gain a new voting base. Hand a milk-bone to a dog enough times, and you can train it to do whatever you want.

The projected cost of building the fence is 5.5 billion, not including repairs or delays etc. and would take 5 years to build.

Has Mexico's new president weighed in on any of this. Why isn't he encouraging his people to come home and build a promised land or something like that. What kind of lame azz leadership have they got down there? Sleezy low life free loaders trying to get us to pay for their poor people. Why don't they concentrate on building their economy and welcoming their people home. They're making Latins look bad.

That's because the government can't afford to build it without using undocumented workers, just like the company that built the fence in San Diego did.

Ok, let's take the ILLEGAL ALIENS, place them in forced labor camps, with 3 hots and a cot. Make them live in tents, guard the compound, and everyday they work on the wall/fence. When it is finished, then the labor they put in will be taken into consideration for the pathway to citizenship.

then we can concentrate our resources on going after the ones who still want to be here illegally. Sort of like let's clear our plate before we go after the bad ones.
Posted by RandalDS at 08:29 PM : Jun 14, 2007
Ok, let's say 4.4 billion to build the wall/fence. Where will the money come from to patrol it to keep the new illegals(that will be called for by business when the existing ones become legal and can demand more money and better conditions)out? How about maintenance and repair? What's to keep them from cutting the fence anyway, or just climbing over, digging under...etc.?
Where will the resources come from to investigate, incarcerate and deport those who don't want this amnesty?

Again I state the same report it, check out the DOT site and you will find the laws are there, they are the primary group of enforcement followed by OSHA followed by state laws. There are trucks on the road and drivers that should not be and they are not in compliance with the law. The majority of the shipping coming in from overseas or across the border is brokered to US corporations they have a liabity in this also. All vehicles for commerce regardless of origin must be in compliance with DOT,OSHA and all applicable state and federal laws. Like I said report them, the information is readily available from who owns the semi to who owns the trailer, container to who and where the shipment is going and who contracted it.

A very good friend of mine is of Mexican heritage and he's against amnesty. Also, his son is an over the road truck driver and has told me the same thing as barbaraf4 regarding the state disrepair of Mexican trucks. I'd go with the real world folks on this one. Again, just because there's a law means nothing. Most people I know who've been hit by illegals have had to pay for everything themselves.

Report the trucks they all have a ID besides the license plate. Any vehicle that is involved in commerce must conform to OSHA and all other applicable laws.On the side or back of the trailer or container is a number that is specific to that cargo on the front of the actual semi is a number that is specific to the driver and the company that employs him. Report them. A vehicle in said shape is not road worthy and should for reasons of public safety be removed from the road until made fit for public safety. This does not change the fact that this is a economic problem that is what really is at the heart of the debate. Refuse to renew the contracts until a living wage is included in the contracts. Then the contracts can do what they were intended to do and the "problem" of illegal immigration is resolved for the majority of it.
