Ther does not have to be a creator. I just believe there is. I also believe the universe is infinite as is Gods imagination and love for us. I also believe that science is often narrow minded. We say life can not exist here or there. The oxygen content is too low, the presuure to high, no water, or the tempurtures are too extreme. Well that is for life as we know it on earth. Science is saying that life can not exist in any other form but what we have here. My religious beliefs say that as wise as God is he can and probably has created other life in other places that is different from what we have here. As far as religion and political affiliation I do not see a finite connection. I know many christian democrates. To me my political beliefs are based on how I think the government should be run completely aside from any religious issue. After all term limits is not a religous issue, neither is welfare reform, immigration or the war in Iraq. However they are undeniably political issues for which people having differing views. Ofcourse from your comment as a republican I am a complete moron incapable of having a inteligent thought on the matter. With that logic since I am against the war it must be right. That is if my imbecilic logic is right.

Interesting post. But why does there have to be a creator? I understand as humans we seek an explanation. But if God created the universe, who created God? If God has been around for ever, can we just cut him out and say the Universe has been around forever? Just believe the universe is infinite in time and space, and believe it on faith.
Why do we need the middleman. If you can beleive God is infinite, why not the universe? Does it have to be in a book that has been re-written and re-interpretted 100's of times to match the prejudices and bias of the day?

I think it is safe to say that Republicans do not understand the question. Everyday we live the reality of evolution -

Time for them to read the Origin of Species by Darwin

I have yet to find anyone who has a strong anti evolution stand that actually understand what evolution actually is.

Education is kryptonite to rethuglicans! Militant repukes from inland backwaters have been holding the rest of the country back since Civil War days. Though there is a religious component to this, the biggest red-blue divide is intellectual. Educational achievement doesn't necessarily equal intelligence. After all, Bush holds a Harvard MBA. Still, it bears noting that Democrats are better educated than Republicans. You are 25 percent more likely to hold a college degree if you live in the Democratic northeast than in the red state south. Blue state voters are 25 percent more likely, therefore, to understand the concept of evolution.

Most republicans reject evolution because most republicans are morons. It's just that simple.

Most Republicans reject knuckle dragging liberal democrats, but I don't see CBS making a big deal out of that.

The next time you get sick, don't go to a doctor. Sit on the edge of your bed and pray until you're cured.

Also, you should turn off your computer. Evolution is what has allowed the human race to become smarter and smarter, creating newer and better things. The last time I checked the bible it didn't say, "And on the 12,034,237th day, god said let there be computers!!!"

"The University of Maryland conducted 23 separate studies including a total of 2,774 patients. 13 of 23 trials appeared to demonstrate some greater benefit for the patients prayed for."

So 10 did not. Did they have the exact same disease at the same level, with the same meds, with the same medical history, with the same family history of disease, with the same diet, with the same jobs, upbrining, physical shape, education, ethnic backgroud, address, social peer group, blood type, etc, etc.
I ate waffles yesterday in the name of my friend, and my friend got a promotion. I did not tell him I ate waffles for him, therefore the waffle gods must have been pleased with me and rewarded him thusly.
Idiotic.

As I indicated, your remarks have already disqualified you from rational diacussion. There is simply no point in trying. Happy ignorance and good luck.

Maybe we should force people to take an IQ test prior to being able to vote - 68% of Republicans would not be qualified.

Well my IQ is 178 and I am a member of MENSA. When we meet and discuss issue no one ever insults someone with an opposing view. My stance is that man was created as man. We have never existed in any other form. We did not evolve from a single celled ameba through numerous mutations over millions of years. yes as man we have evolved the evidence for this arguement is irrefutable. That is intra-species evolution which I stated I beieve has and continues to occur. Others have said that religion causes fear. I disagree my religion puts me at peace and I fear nothing (well heights and rats) I think haveing a closed mind puts you at fear. You fear that which you can not explain so you make up a theory and abstractly go about proving it. If you are challanged you resort to name calling. I truely feeel sorry for you. I on the other hand feel I am open minded I believe that evolution and creationism go hand in hand and are not mutually exclusive. I just don't believe tha tlife as we know it is sheer happenstance.

God made man thru the evolutionary process that he created. dogband at 09:33 AM : Jun 13, 2007

Aparently you have failed to read the adam and eve story... God made them out of a thin air supposably. Chucked them in a paradise... Set up rules for them for some reason???(no idea he was probably bored or something). Knowing full well they to would become bored in their existence and break the rules. (p.s. just a bs story that I have thought was bs from the first time I heard it which is why I probably have never been religious)

BTW.....The bible and evolution are bitter contrasts...only the uneducated believe in both which is aparently the case because i am pretty sure more then half of the population in the US claims they are christians.

seriously tho can we please move out of the dark ages someday... can we please end these &^$*ing retarted religous wars that plauge humankind. As long as their are 30 different storys of magical ester bunnys our their, with a following of people, there will forever be bickering.

Yes religion got us thru a time in our early but that time is long gone. Ironic how it was probably needed for us to form early civilizations but now it will be the end of all civilizations... go figure!!!

Al I can say is show me the irrefutable empirical data. As for the flood how is it that the story of the flood exists in almost every culture from the ancient Syrians to the Aztecs. I guess that it is just coincidence. Also please do not confuse ignorance with belief. All I can say is show me the proof. Not the theroy but the proof.

I can show you facts to support the theory. That is what science is about.
Show me your facts to support creationism. You cannot because it is based on faith, not facts. Just because a common myth is prevalent in several cultures does not provide facts.
Prove a man can live to 400 years old 6000 yrs ago when evidence shows the average lie span was 35 yrs. Show facts to support females come from a rib bone, that 8 people can populate the word, that Jonah can live inside an aquatic mammal for 90 yrs.
I can show evidence of the big bang. Can you show evidence of a guy being nailed to a tree and then coming back to life 3 days later?

Now I see how sects like the Taliban come to power - they just fill the void left by stupidity. When I see stats like these I don't really see any hope left for America.. we are wallowing in ignorance.

Posted by afmca at 09:32 AM : Jun 13, 2007

I don't believe you need to look as far as the Taliban GBII should be viewed as a sect leader and the repugs the members. For years their has been concern about what would fill the void when structured organized religion declines and the resounding opinions are that cults and sect leaders would fill the void and that is where we are.
